Glad to see that the higher end models are selling better than the lower end ones (relative to Apple's initial guesstimates). I think the added features are well worth the additional cost & will results in an overall better experience.
Yeah, my only criticism of the Neo is the 8GB of RAM. I know RAM is in short supply these days, and I also know it's probably just because that's what the A18 Pro came built with. But I think this computer needed 12GB and I think they should have just went for the A19 Pro just for that reason. If it came with 12GB RAM, I would probably have bought one for a cheap-ish machine to bring with me when traveling that I don't care as much about if something happens to it. But I would definitely get the upgrade to 512GB and TouchID for sure.

Yeah so those shipping times are meaningless. Walk into an Apple store and pick one up.

Like when the latest iPhone launches. "OMG the iPhone 19 Pro Max Ultra 256GB dusty blue shipping time has slipped to 2029 😱😱"
That certainly wasn't the case with the iPhone 17.

The only time I’ve had an issue with an apple computer it was a new one.

I honestly prefer to buy a refurbished from them
Same. I've bought many refurbs over the years, starting as far back as the first gen iPod nano. My experience has been that they are pretty much indistinguishable from new.

Walmart App has it front and center!

Schools would and should continue to buy cloud-first, thin clients for ease of maintenance and management.

In my mind, this is the at-home computer for elementary and middle school aged kids.

I wonder what the bulk edu pricing is for the $499 model? Apple should offer them at near cost to get back into the schools after the iPads for every student failures.

Wow I'm surprised people won't even wait for the back-to-school event to check if there's any bonus item that comes with MBN. A few years back the Mac Mini at the same price was also part of the BTS event.

Don't worry, there will probably be a 2027 MB Neo with the A19 Pro and 12 GB RAM thanks to all of the binned chips that didn't go into iPhone Airs. Tim Cook strikes again!

Historically, Apple is fine with cannibalizing the sales of a product when they roll out something new that they believe will sell far more over time.

I've owned Macs since 1990, and used them since 1988. I've seen this several times before.

Let’s see. I predict the MacBook Air will be receiving some pink love before too long

Agree. I still bought one as it meets my needs. But if they come out with one with More RAM next year, I'll upgrade to that for sure.
