But iPhone shares the same shape as iPad yet iPhone somehow need a notch, now MacBook Pro, but magically not iPad Pro. Plus, camera is protruding, so touching camera while holding means you hold it upside down.

Wonder what apple designer is doing here. Just weird.
The iPhone and iPads are the same shape? I thought the iPhone was not only smaller but much narrower.

I never liked the home button either, but it wasn't annoying. I really don't think the notch is as much a visual cue as you think especially for those like myself that can't stand it. I can't think of anything I did by looking at the notch on my old iPhone.
You’re clearly not the target. No one on this site would be.

It takes two minutes of charging to get nine hours of use and two hours of charging will get you a month. At some point you will stop working… charge it then.

‘If you don’t charge it sometimes the battery eventually drains’ is a silly complaint.
Stop working? I'm really unlucky in things like needing a charge happening at the most inopportune times.

Most of us don’t work 700 hours without taking a break. For those of you who do, it’s 2 minutes for nine hours of charge.

We're all customers of Apple, and I'm sure they want our money, and I have money to spend. I haven't decided what else I'm going to buy instead if there's a notch, but I know it wont be an Apple product. Probably something light.

iPad's and Apple watch's are about all I would continue buying from Apple.

We are only their customer because we buy their products. That has little influence on who they design for.

And if it has a notch, it'll 100% have Face ID. A webcam doesn't require a notch, Face ID does. It's also the only possible reason why users accept that the iPhone still has a notch instead of punch holes. And yes I heard it was going to have Touch ID for sure. Maybe both ?
A webcam (and mic and light sensor) can require a notch if there’s no bezel. That’s not complicated.

I never have either, but there are times I have worked fixing something where I couldn't stop until it was done. And that's exactly when my luck would have it fail, right in the middle of something critical.

I disagree, every customer should be at least thought of, who knows, you may be able to please more people and gain market share, thus making even more money, for you and your shareholders.

I read people saying “if it will have Face ID then it will have a notch”. Why? iPad Pro has faceID and normal bezels.
You hold an iPad Pro, so you need space for your fingers
You hold an iPad Pro, so you need space for your fingers.
You hold an iPad Pro, so you need space for your fingers.
One more time for the people in the back: YOU HOLD AN IPAD PRO, SO YOU NEED SPACE FOR YOUR FINGERS!!!!!!!!!!!
*Clears throat*
You hold an iPad in multiple orientations.
You hold an iPad in multiple orientations.
You hold an iPad in multiple orientations!!!
Seriously!
The border on the iPad has to be at least a little thick so you can hold it without random inputs coming from the sides of your fingers and hands. You don’t hold a MacBook by the lid, you don’t touch the MacBook screen, and you don’t flip the MacBook into Portrait.
That is why a notch makes sense on a MacBook, which stays in one orientation, and where you can make the border as thin as possible with very little practical trade-offs

You can't think about the needs of every customer. Every 'new feature' that's added to appease one person alienates another customer.

Apple, for years, felt it was more important than anyone could pick up any Apple device and use it as if it was their own. Customization has ruined that. People think they have the right to customize their device and every change they make undermines the simplicity of the device.

Lack of stock in corporate supported hardware doesn’t allow corporate users to switch from windows pc to macs.
As long as IT signs off, it’s totally ok. You might want to think a bit more internationally on a global level.
But yeah, each company have a slightly different set of rules. And in many cases, employees don’t choose anything, they’re supplied with hardware without having much of a choice. Every now and then companies don’t care, but luckily that’s rare and I’ve only seen it a couple of times back in my industry days doing projects in over 70 countries and many with Apple.

All your issues seem to be due to you forcing the device to adapt instead of adapting to the needs of the device. It works fine if you stop trying to change everything.
An attempt, but no cigar. Future trolling attempts would be best served by omitting giveaways like “needs of the device”.

Wait, you don’t? Uhm, ok. Everyone will though when the iPad Book Pro arrives in a couple of years and “you’re going to love it”. ;)

And you get a hole when using apps in full screen?
No!!!

In Monterey, in full screen, the menu bar is always visible.
Therefore, if there is a notch, if you go into full screen, your full screen app will not go into the notch, because that is where the menu bar is. So you’ll have Notch with menu bar, and then a regular display with your full screen apps beneath that.
So basically, you’ll have the regular MacBook Pro 16/10 Display that we have had for years, and then “on top of that” you’ll have extra display.
The notch Area is an *addition* to the regular area, it’s not part of the regular area.

Ugh no, but since I prefer Macs hardware and its OS, I'll have to live with it if this is true.
