What size screen MacBook Pro (2021) did you order?

If you were promised a November delivery…and Apple has applied “prepare to ship” maybe they are doing that so people do not cancel out their orders? Because come Tuesday… they will be available at stores.

I wonder if this is true or not.
They might be available in US stores. Here in Italy there hasn't been a phone or watch shown as available in-store since launch. I'm betting the same will be true for the MBP. We don't ever see in-store launch day availability. Just a different logistical setup here I guess as we have about 10 Apple stores throughout the country. The lack of in-store availability is one of the few things I miss from the States since moving here 8 years ago.

I think quite a few of us changed our minds and lost our launch date order. I think you are just seeing people moving up.
My mistake. I’m saying based on those who ordered on “pre-order” day (first hour or so). Though I’ve seen some people with late October to first first week of November moving up.

I was talking to the reps when I went into the store this morning, and they told me that they get very little stock in at launch—iPhones/AW/iPads, etc. I figured that I would go ahead and place the order and then stalk like crazy come Monday night, Tuesday morning until I find what I ordered. If I do find anything, I’ll cancel my pre-order.
It makes sense now. I see you securing all the bases. I have a feeling they will be available during the launch date. Don’t think you will be waiting for that long for you Mac to arrive.

Thank you for sharing. Appreciate the info.

I don’t remember it being part of the order process unless I missed it in the preorder rush. Ultimately a couple of days doesn’t matter but I would rather get it asap.

Interesting, perhaps if you ordered immediately you get free shipping and launch delivery?
I ordered immediately after the presentation. Free shipping.

Today I learned the hard way not to get too over-confident in shipping dates!

Launch day I ordered an M1 Pro 16” with a delivery date of Nov 5-10. After a few hours I decided to re-order and upgrade to the M1 Max 16” with a delivery date of Nov 17-23.

The M1 Pro was slated for Nov 5-10 delivery so I decided to hold onto my order until reviews came out on Monday so I could see real world use and determine if the M1 Max would be overkill.

Today the M1 Pro moved to “Preparing to Ship” (to Canada). I contacted Apple but it was too late to cancel the order. They have contact the shipper and asked for it to be returned.

Just wanted to share my experience! Haven’t finished reading through this thread today so not sure if others are experiencing this. I definitely feel quite environmentally wasteful.

Not to worry! Everything happens for a reason and with Apple it all works out just fine. Fingers are crossed 🤞 🍀

Mines still PFS according to Apple but I can see it on my UPS account that it’s left Japan. Don’t worry if it’s still PFS - it’s most likely enroute for 10/26

Thanks, Scrappy! I just went into UPS and logged into MY UPS. Didn't see anything. Perhaps not looking in the right place.

That’s right. It’s unfair to the other people who are waiting in line, like us lunatics in this thread.
Um… actually I was talking about @TheYayAreaLiving’s Oops! moment with ordering multiple products to determine which one she wants before sending the other back to Apple.

I’m completely fine with wanting to re-assess in person and then initiating an exchange if you are not happy with the original purchase. When you consider the amount of money spent on these laptops and hopefully the 5 +/- years of ownership, you want to be and remain ecstatic with your purchase.

Right, but there’s no reason that assessment can’t be done on the front end at a store rather than buying several and trekking to the store to return the unwanted ones. The enthusiasm here is fun, but no one is going to die if they get the new MBP on Day 3 instead of Day 1. And buying multiples means other people have to wait longer.

I don’t have anything in the UPS app yet, either.

UPS MyChoice don’t always show the shipments unless they match up your first name and last name, phone numbers etc with the shipment. Hiccups happen. I’m sure apple has shipped yours and will honor the delivery date as promised.

Both USB-C ports are Thunderbolt 4 which supports 120hz via Displayport connection. You just need a USB-c to displayport cable.
