Not a deal breaker, is a little disappointing though, safari looks blurry when scrolling on my 16" model, nowhere near as smooth as the 120hz on my iPhone and iPad Pro, if apple is calling this 120hz, they are BS everyone.

Weird, testing on https://www.testufo.com/ renders 120hz on Firefox, but only 60hz on Safari.

Jeez I hope its software. The scrolling in Safari is a massive disappointment for me.

Just use Chrome. These are powerful enough to overcome the massively terrible memory management of Chrome. I would use Safari if I used an iPhone but alas.

Mine was originally Nov 5-10, but it also is in the "Clearance Delay" status in Memphis right now. I'm not too concerned about it still arriving well before the original time estimate but that's annoying if Oct 29 orders are in the same status.

Following up on this, it cleared now, and is showing October 29th delivery in FedEx (the Apple Store app says November 2nd).

You're talking to the girl who has had a 2013 MBP still running macOS Sierra (version 10.12.6). I have had 6.6 mb of memory left (hence why I'm on ancient software) and haven't been able to do much on my old machine. It's time to learn what this thing can do.

So what are your first impressions of yours?

I really love how smooth and sleek this MacBook feels... I can't wait to get this thing some proper protection. Torn between skins or cases (whenever either becomes available) but speaking of that, HOW IS THERE NOT a market for cases for these bad boys yet.

Ugh, and yeah... the hubby thinks we should keep both the iPad and this MBP. He is not a person who returns ANYTHING... he does make a good point that they both do serve different purposes. I think I'm convinced 😉

That's a really dumb angle to shoot it as a comparison, considering that the actual depth is not substantially different. The new models just have more volume because they don't taper, which is missing on the old model because it's hidden by the edge.

So, crazy thing happened...as I was leaving to pick up my in store 14-inch MacBook Pro, the UPS delivery person came to my home and dropped off my laptop!

I finally got it!

UPS couldn't have timed it any better, could they?

UPS was supposed to deliver the laptop anytime between 11am - 3pm, and they came by around 4:20pm, precisely the time I was leaving to pick up the 14-inch MacBook Pro for in-store pick up:

I am at least grateful that the laptop wasn't delayed, damaged, or missplaced, like some unfortunate people today.

But what an experience! Time to experience the magic of that MagSafe, Micro/Mini-LED + ProMotion display and the power of the M1 Pro SoC! Let's go!!!!

Thank you! I wanted to make sure you see my post. It’s a total beast. I love this MacBook Pro. Been waiting for it for years.

The Apple polishing cloth is just an added little touch. To me it’s the little things that matters. Get yourself one too. It’s very durable and heavy duty.

Color wise? Many people in here told me take the Space Grey one but I’m still debating. I can’t decide lol. I need to unbox the Silver Mac and see how it looks. Hopefully the decision will be made tonight.

From what little I was able to do after work, I’m loving it so far. As you said, it’s very smooth and responsive. I love the keyboard and the speakers are amazing!

I know each person has their own tolerance, but I don’t find the 16” too heavy at all. It does have some heft to it but for me is easily manageable.

Talking about skins, I LOVE Dbrand skins and is what I use for all of my laptops. I went with the titanium finish—it offers a grippier surface. When I have time, I have some learning to do as well with the new OS and how it interacts with the new M1 MBP.

YAY for your husband’s inability to return anything, and he does have a point. 😁
