You can leave it in the sleeve and plug it in and the liner is uber-plush. Photos of mine have some battle scratches..I need to hit it with some conditioner, too.
That was quick! Did you order the skin well in advance? Is the skin designed for the new enclosures of the latest MBP?

Sorry! So this is all on my late-2019 16” MBP.
I’ve only had it since June last year, so just too soon for me to move to the M1 Max…maybe I’ll be on for the M2 Max or something.
Edit- Just checked dbrand.com and the new MBPs are on pre-order and there’s not too many options yet. I don’t know if they’re hurting from all the global supply chain things - but even the skin I showed isnt available anymore. Hope the selection gets better for you all.

Lets see if I can keep all of this straight.
16 Max / 64 / 2 T Nov 3-5 FedEx Currently in Japan 10/29 - Nov 2 Delivery.
This morning my MBP was still in China and there were reports of delays. So, I did the "logical" thing and looked for in store inventory which for the record super surprised how much inventory is in stores. Friends who want specific configurations ordered release day and still have a shipping window weeks away are currently available in store. But, I digress, especially with Apple having a good return policy.
Could not find my model in store but found a 16 Max / 64 / 4T so decided to upgrade and join my friends with the model they chose and also had delivered to them today. I picked it up on the way home from the airport thanks to the transportation company I use allowing a pit stop. He's a Mac user as well so we had a nice chat.
My ordered MacBook Pro hit Japan at some point and it looks like it will get here possibly F if it does not hit the delays others are experiencing. So, I feel like I jumped the gun a tiny bit but also appreciate the extra time I have to set it up and possibly take it on my next round of conferences.
It's only been sitting next to me while I backup my current Mac. Not much use at all except a system update but it does not feel huge compared to my 2016 15 inch MBP. I am pleasantly surprised. I thought it would be much heavier and much bigger. Cannot wait to dive in once my backups are done and content transferred.
A thank you to this group. Thanks to you two friends got their MBPs much sooner than expected and all of us are about to hit a bunch of travel. You also helped me get a MBP sooner. I would have never thought stores would have this kind of inventory and I would have not put it together until they were probably stock limited.
Pre Covid travels I was simply not able to be part of a community and thread like this. It's been a blast and I plan to hang out here to help welcome your Macs as well as click around some other locations. As an older geek it's been fun to watch the high end excitement of delivery day with many of you and also relive some of that myself.
Thank you to the caretakers and participators. May all the remaining deliveries be smooth and migrations (if chosen) be successful.

My nearest store is a little over 2 hours away so I'll just wait for the shipping. Getting bumped up would be a nice surprise though!

No - that’s why you‘re supposed to by 10 of them at a time, so you can just throw them out when they get dirty and unbox a fresh one.
$29 a cloth ? stuff that, better off using my t-shirt lol.

Yes, the plain cardboard part. So if you have to return it, how would you return it by shipping? Previous box just let me reuse the thing but new one seems to be hard to reuse.
So... The feet. The Apple photos make them look like silver snowshoes when they are simply slightly extruded, slightly larger, and more uniformed. Even eye level it does not look like the photos on the site. At least not to my eyes.

I would wash it when needed. I would treat it like my auto-detailing cloths - so wash separately with fragrance-free detergent, no softeners…tumble dry low - no fabric sheets or softeners (can add scratching compounds to the cloth).

That’s a lot of work for a cloth 😳 I’m out lol.
Some real-world testing. Gaming does wear on the battery a bit- but I've gone a full 7 hours of playing various games (Parkitect, City Skylines, Sims 4) and I'm still at 39%.
Nah not getting it man. I only use my laptop for Safari, some minor word and spreadsheet use, Netflix and torrenting.
Don't need it to be any faster or more powerful LOL
I nearly had a crisis on my hands today.
New 14" MBP was out on the truck for delivery and I spot checked the follow me map every so often on the UPS app. Driver shows up and delivers a big box of something else I ordered for my business. I always have the same driver. He acknowledges me and shows me on his handheld that a high value signature required item was supposed to be delivered as well but it wasn't anywhere on the truck that he could see. Tracking info shows that the pre-loading crew at the distribution center put it on the truck at 4:30am but he can't find it. He says it might be hidden somewhere in the vehicle and if he finds it he'll come back, then off he goes.
I'm not blaming him but at this point I don't know what to think or feel. I only think of the worst case scenario that it was stolen and a claim will have to be put in and Apple will get involved, who knows when I would get my new toy! I'm desperately wanting this thing and decide to buy one for pickup at the nearby Apple Store. They might run out and I have no idea how quickly the missing one would be replaced or dealt with. I get charged and the pickup confirmation email comes through. The UPS app shows the package still out for delivery until 7pm.
A few hours later I go back to working on a project in another room. Afterward I come back to my office area and check the status from UPS. I check the follow me map and it now says it was delivered and thus it won't show the map anymore, but the tracking details still only say out for delivery. What in the actual F$@%!
At this point I think someone at UPS is playing games and actually stole it. I'm thinking the worst about my driver. How could he do this to me? I've known him for years through dozens and dozens of deliveries. I'm pissed.
I turn around and there's the box from UPS sitting on a table. The driver found it and came back, and one of my people signed for it while I was in the other room. She went out front to look for me but I came in through the back so we missed each other. I check the UPS status and now the tracking details are updated showing the delivery time and her signature.
