Hopefully pickup my replacement watch band this week 🤦‍♂️ They’ve got stock at the store, I have to wait until they receive my replacement. 🤦‍♂️🙄 could’ve got it yesterday when picking up my Mac 🤬

I love this whole post and I'm so glad you're now part of this amazing community! But I also wanted to say that I'm also an "older geek"...let's just say that I was a computer science major writing code in college before MS Windows existed. :) I think there's lots of us in this diverse, worldwide group, and you're in great company!

I've seen some people talk about how they don't really notice the promotion display, I would say personally it was like when I went from my desktop 60hz to 144hz monitors
It can be hard to notice at first but when you go back it's apparent
Just my two cents on it

Yours must be on the same merry-go-round as mine. I ordered a 14" Pro 32GB/2TB. I would have ordered through my Apple Business account, but I had a $500 credit from the DTK program that could only be used on the consumer store.

I really wish Apple would use FedEx all the time like they used to.

The problem is safari is a bit jittery and blurry when scrolling, I can tell straight away that I’ve got ProMotion on my iPhone and iPad, ProMotion looks like trash on my Mac.

Something definitely wrong with it on these Macs 🤦‍♂️

Either they’re using cheap ass panels or it’s a software issue.

ProMotion is not fully working out of the box in e.g. Safari, Chrome etc.

This is so bizarre. I just got my new high-end 16" MBP, and yep - ProMotion is not fully working out of the box. It's on MacOS 12.0, so will be updating to 12.0.1 to see if it fixes it. Now, before anyone says anything, yes, - ProMotion IS working when moving windows around etc. It's super...

So, I'm playing Apple Arcade and the computer is getting hot, but the fan isn't coming on. Do you think a higher GPU would help with this?

I'm not discrediting your opinion on it all, I don't have an iphone with promotion (12 pro max) so I would not know that reference point
Compared to what apple products I do own, it's noticeably smoother

So, is it a correct conclusion to make that ProMotion is not affected by Google Chrome? When I am browsing through the internet using Google Chrome, I don't see any of the scrolling issues that people are mentioning that are happening with Safari.

😂 you should have gotten one, dude. The premium cloth is so exclusive. You don’t even need a spray or any liquid to clean anything. It’s durable, thick and rich. No, liquid required.

The cloth is like Tesla of Microfiber cloth‘s. You know how you don’t need gas to drive around Tesla and it gets you to point A to point B. Same goes with this Apple polishing cloth. It does an excellent job without any liquid being required.

Hope, this explained it well.

I’m seeing the opposite, my iPhone 13 pro max is a 120hz beast, iPad not far behind, don’t know what happened to my MacBook Pro. 🤔😂

This morning my MBP was still in China and there were reports of delays. So, I did the "logical" thing and looked for in store inventory which for the record super surprised how much inventory is in stores. Friends who want specific configurations ordered release day and still have a shipping window weeks away are currently available in store. But, I digress, especially with Apple having a good return policy.

Could not find my model in store but found a 16 Max / 64 / 4T so decided to upgrade and join my friends with the model they chose and also had delivered to them today. I picked it up on the way home from the airport thanks to the transportation company I use allowing a pit stop. He's a Mac user as well so we had a nice chat.

My ordered MacBook Pro hit Japan at some point and it looks like it will get here possibly F if it does not hit the delays others are experiencing. So, I feel like I jumped the gun a tiny bit but also appreciate the extra time I have to set it up and possibly take it on my next round of conferences.

It's only been sitting next to me while I backup my current Mac. Not much use at all except a system update but it does not feel huge compared to my 2016 15 inch MBP. I am pleasantly surprised. I thought it would be much heavier and much bigger. Cannot wait to dive in once my backups are done and content transferred.

A thank you to this group. Thanks to you two friends got their MBPs much sooner than expected and all of us are about to hit a bunch of travel. You also helped me get a MBP sooner. I would have never thought stores would have this kind of inventory and I would have not put it together until they were probably stock limited.

Pre Covid travels I was simply not able to be part of a community and thread like this. It's been a blast and I plan to hang out here to help welcome your Macs as well as click around some other locations. As an older geek it's been fun to watch the high end excitement of delivery day with many of you and also relive some of that myself.

Thank you to the caretakers and participators. May all the remaining deliveries be smooth and migrations (if chosen) be successful.
