What size screen MacBook Pro (2021) did you order?

Meanwhile as most people are having actual movement…

This has been a miserable experience.

I have a call scheduled tomorrow with Apple to discuss possibly expediting my replacement MacBook Pro but I honestly doubt they’ll do anything.

I wish we could just call ZhengZhou and be like “so…..where’s my package and what’s the hold up?”
Did you receive any updates?

Maybe. My wrist just don’t feel as comfortable. I think someone here also mentioned not liking the 16 because of the keyboard but I don’t remember who.

It’s too bad because I was slightly leaning towards 16 until I started typing on it for an extended period of time.
easy solution. magic keyboard with touchid. and you still get that nice beautiful expansive 16" screen at a proper distance.

I think my MBP is in the same group as orangesauce's. I got an arrival in KY at 8:59am.

Would love for it to quickly get on a flight to Philly so I might receive it tomorrow, but I figure it will arrive on Monday or Tuesday.
Hopefully today is the day. Expect an import scan to hit your package soon :)

I've never returned anything to Apple (not planning to now either, but just curious). There really isn't any sort of restocking fee if you open the box and use the computer for a week and then repackage and return it?
I don't think that the restocking fee has been in place for years; they are pretty open to returns. You may want to contact Apple to confirm.

No restocking fee’s. As long whatever came in the box is there you should be good to do. Just make sure it’s within the returnable days.

This used to be the case and it is a country by country bases, but most if not all major electronics retailers dropped restock fees years ago at least in NA.

Hey gm! As I was falling asleep, I noticed they were delaying the last outbound flight to Denver. By this morning I saw that it was for a total of 0:45. There must have been a lot of MBPs coming to Denver because I’m happy to report mine is on a truck for delivery now!! So thrilled for everyone in the same situation!!

I think you'll have to wait for the email from Apple when it ships. My UPS tracking number was included in that, but I can't find it on the Order status page on Apple's site.
Yes, I just got an email that my order shipped, but for me my tracking number is only on Apple's site and not in the email.

Woo hoo! Glad you were about to catch a red-eye flight. Big day for you today. Don't forget to post the pictures! Let's go!!!!

After learning how the tracking process works, it seems like mine unit was manugactured close to the end of the week. It was trucked from Shanghai to the ZZ autonomous zone with perfect timing to sit and do nothing for almost six days. Once it finally got to Incheon, the progress was rapid. If I could fly commercial that quickly, I’d be happy with my connections.

One thing that is different from flying freight is the number of connections is way higher than flying commercial. I’m guessing that’s because the range on a fully loaded freighter is not very far. Like commercial, every connection is a chance to miss a flight. I just woke up to find that a crucial last flight was delayed by 0:45, allowing my unit and presumably dozens or maybe even hundreds of others to make delivery today.

Someone else on the thread got someone at UPS who said Apple has a contracted cargo capacity out of ZZ. The only thing Apple can do is pay for more capacity, of course at the expense that they are flying airplanes that aren’t full that much sooner after fulfilling demand. A carrier doesn’t really care how much capacity Apple buys, just as if Apple had their own airline, they’d still be limited by how many airplanes they could get out of ZZ each day. And it takes weeks to change their contracted capacity.

When I talked to Apple yesterday after staying home all day to accept delivery that never came, the person I talked to was defiant that she couldn’t or wouldn’t change the shipment to expedited. UPS seemed to echo the same sentiment, which I thought was notable because carriers are always ready to upsell services for enough money. So if I were you, I would focus on how Apple didn’t contract enough capacity to get machines out of ZZ. The UPS system otherwise seems to be working well once that happens.

Hope this helps in some way and that you get out of ZZ today!!

Oooh oooh it's in Richmond (I'm in Vancouver, so that's just over the bridge from me). So close I can taste it. Of course, given my path so far, it will go back to Incheon at this point.

How are those with a Nov 4 delivery window doing? I haven't gotten any movement on my order, still processing.

How would you rate neural engine for helping create tensorflow models? Are the NE cores just similar to Google’s TPU or are they helpful with model construction as well?

Thanks for this. It's super useful information.

I guess we can blame Apple for this then. I'm praying that I get out ZZ soon.

My relevant scans are attached. The key was the arrival time into Louisville of 12:44am and that I’m west coast instead of east coast. A westbound airplane can “beat the sun” and arrive without running down the wall clock and missing the last load onto a last mile truck.

Have you tried the flight search tool on FlightAware yet?
