We were on the same truck from Shanghai several days ago and both stuck in ZZ. I got unstuck yesterday about this time and mine is on a last mile truck for delivery in a few hours. You might be in the same position 24 hours from now. The only thing working against you now is the time from Louisville to your local airport and (eek) traffic on the LIE. All that matters is it gets on a local truck, and the logistics between those two points are just a matter of “connecting flights”. Fingers crossed for you!
To the house. My driver passes by each day three hours from now.
We’ll see what happens…. It has to go allllll the way to NY so I am hopeful for this weekend but if not, it’ll probably get to me exactly on the day Apple said it would in my shipping email.

Happy for you guys! My day 1 preorder still shows delivery estimate of today, but the apple store order is still processing. No movement at all 
TBH, I haven't used the machine for any ML models. I have a machine with a Nvidia GPU which is already setup for it. I work with TensorFlow and PyTorch both. For the time being, it seems like only TF has an Apple Silicon version. I should try this out soon.

I've been ordering products from apple since apple.com store first launched and ive never seen one miss the estimated date. Usually they come way sooner

Quick tips: if you are going to chase the deliver driver based on their location, be sure to bring your ID. The UPS app doesn’t update the driver location except every ten minutes or so and they will move faster than that. To get a refresh, don’t wait — do a hard kill of the app and reload it.
Drivers have a lot of valuables, so help them out by announcing yourself on approach and ask if you can get your package while you hold out your ID for inspection. Be prepared with the description of the box and it’s approximate weight. These help the driver know you aren’t there to rob them. Good luck!!

I’m two hours ahead of schedule now on the restore from time machine!
I often have multiple machines due to clients having me work on theirs. When that happens, I have a second stand that I put on the left side of the screen, then just move the FireWire cable between them. The keyboard is plugged into the display and I put a Bluetooth dongle on the keyboard so the mouse follows it as well. Works great!
How did you get the driver's location on a map?
It was cold a few days and I was in the motorcycle. Only one of the heated grips are working right now… ??
In the UPS app on iOS, you can “see your package on a map” or whatever they call it.
I worked at UPS years ago. Maybe things have changed since, but when I worked for them drivers were not permitted to hand over packages to approaching customers, even with an ID.
