What size screen MacBook Pro (2021) did you order?

Ordered on 26th October: 16 inch m1 max 64Gb 4TB

I’ve seen it go from a week before the new year to Dec 9-16th with no further changes in over a month.

64GB memory on new orders now push it to February.

There’s clearly 1.5 to 2 month delay for that memory config.

Seen some 64GB orders from October 22 arrived for some people today so hoping there’s no additional delays and it comes sooner.

I ordered a couple of days before someone else I know that ordered a 14 M1 Pro with 32GB 1TB SSD and they already got theirs.

I’ve discovered my tolerance is tested with orders over 3 weeks to a month long, anything after that and I’m like come on and just ship a little early…
My delivery date has said Dec. 16-23 all along without any movement

I’m in the US and When I had movement for my 26 Oct 16in M1 Max 64Gb order it was within two weeks.

To have the ship date move that quickly definitely implied to me as orders were cancelled (for one reason or another) or that supply increases to some degree that it would see another jump but No such luck at this point.

Hoping for sooner but definitely don’t want it to take longer but it’s not like we have a whole lot of options during a worldwide chip shortage.

O.K.....this was unexpected; once UPS removed their (ambitious) Dec 3 delivery date from tracking yesterday, and replaced it with "yeah, we'll let you know when...." I figured my machine would mill around in Shanghai for at least a few more days lie so many others have experienced.

It's in S.K. now!! That's good, right? Light at the end of the tunnel if it proceeds as is typical these days? Tracking still doesn't provide a delivery date, but I wasn't expecting tracked movement when I just checked.

Yeah, the rest of it should go quickly. Only choke point left is 12-24 hours for import clearance in Kentucky.

QUESTION for you experts. Is there any way to dock the MacBook with the lid closed, on battery power (not plugged in), and get it to work on an external display? Why does it have to be plugged into power supply. I don't understand.

No I wasn't trying to be sarcastic. It's a real question. Some people ordered right when it was released and got theirs right away, so I was just wondering why other's are taking so long to ship.

No-one had received theirs "right away", especially if you look at the almost 600 pages of this thread. From the time they were able to be ordered, everyone was getting a 6-8 week shipping delay on those Macs. If anything, those who ordered early ended up with a 3 week delay at the earliest, which were those people who reviewed the Macs. But no-one got them "right away".

And as everyone already mentioned about delays in shipping, most of the models ordered were not base models. They were all BTO until Apple was able to get some stock of the more common non-base models out to their warehouses, so all orders had to be shipped from China.

Now, cross that with the fact that with lining up the ships in two separate lines, those lines would still be a good 100 to 150 miles long of ships waiting to dock at the Port of Long Beach (the busiest US shipping port on the west coast), we're stuck with a lot of shipping and logistics constraints. And that isn't just for tech; all durable equipment, appliances, clothing, the entire lot are all stuck with those same constraints.

Because of those constraints, prices have gone UP for a lot of things. A prime example is how much this year's Macs cost compared to 2020 or 2019. Hell, my MBA when I bought it new was $1600; look at the MBA now. The video card I bought for my PC in 2014 has actually gone UP in value; this year's comparable card is already at the $1000 range... I paid $199 for it in 2014.

So yes, supply constraints, COVID, and all Macs basically being BTO are causing the delays, and that has been known ever since the COVID pandemic started.

Well the Apple website says “out for delivery” and the FedEx website still says “DELAYED” and “Pending”…but then I scrolled down and saw it says it’s on a FedEx truck in Des Moines, IA. I live about 1 hour 45 min south of Des Moines. So it sounds like it may really show up today on the original arrival date. The 11/26 delivery date they switched to for a while was just a joke I guess. Just for reference I ordered it 10/26 and it arrived In Memphis on 11/24.
Update! It arrived! Yay!!! On the original date it was scheduled. Now to set it up , transfer data, download all my Adobe CC apps etc. etc. Good luck to everyone who is waiting.

My 16" 64GB 2TB M1 Max was ordered 21 Oct eta 11/30-12/8 and then pushed to 12/16-12/23 before shipping on 1 Dec 2021 from China via DHL. So it's pretty random on what is causing the delay. For you it could be the 4TB SSD, who knows.

Mine is arriving a day early, which is totally unexpected. I got a notification this morning at 7am that it was departing Cincinnati. I'm in San Jose so I figured it'd be at least one more day before I'd see it.

I get another notification at 10am saying that it's in San Jose. I'm sure the delivery vehicles have all left for the day. Looking forward to getting it tomorrow.

I'm out running errands and at noon I get another notification saying that my shipment is out with a courier for delivery today so I wrap up what I'm doing and get home.

Wow, that escalated fast! Weeks of nothing and then days of stale shipment messages and suddenly, BAM BAM BAM BAM!

Amphetamine, and other such apps, is supposed to.

Wondering when your MacBook left Memphis. I think to my area there are 20+ flights a day so it could be anytime. Mine went thru International Shipment Release - Import yesterday, and then twice today. At least it's being scanned, if that's what it means. Maybe it'll go out today. I tried calling yesterday and they said I needed to wait 72 hours after original scheduled delivery, so I can call back today and start a trace. Maybe that will help as you suggest.

16" Max, 32GPU, 32GB RAM, 1TB SSD

- Ordered on Nov 22 with ETA of Dec 10 to Dec 17
- Changed to "Preparing to ship" on Dec 1
- Tracking provided early in the morning today (Dec 2)
- Scheduled delivery via FedEx is Dec 8
@nepalisherpa did you order Silver by chance? I ordered the same config but space gray on 11/02 and have had 0 movement. Still order processing.

I actually think if orders from the 21st and 22nd of October with 64GB Memory are shipping this week that most likely means my order from the 26th will ship within the next few days.

So seemingly it’s moving right along. ??

In-store purchase 11/11/21
Card charged 11/26/21
DHL is the carrier
11/26/21 "shipment picked up"
And that's the end.
Chatted with bot at DHL and then a person. DHL human: "many, many, many, many items are sitting in China"
Called Apple. "We'll look into it and it will take us 2-3 business days to do so". Me: We can skip that step because I've already talked with the carrier and the package hasn't left China." Apple employees are very good at staying on script and message. And I'm getting excellent at feeling frustrated. My reality is that my screen failed on my 2019 MBP 13" (Flexgate frustration) and the $650 repair tag helped me to decide to purchase a new MBP at what seems to be a premium price, and I have been without since this all started in October. Thanks for listening. I feel better. LOL

It was shipped on the 26th of November and was in Cincinnati on the 30th
Ok my experience now aligns. Four days after initial shipment, shipping status has been updated and the item has been processed in Cincinnati =)

Is it going to the US? At this point if it’s to the US then I’d probably be reaching out to see what’s up when you can see similar orders for the same config placed after you shipping already.

Canada. I already spoke with them, several times, they put it in priority queue weeks ago, little that did! If I don't get it by Christmas, I'll probably just cancel and wait for the next version.

It seems I'm in the stretch run. I am sincerely surprised...when UPS tracking all of a sudden stopped showing a delivery date yesterday, I thought "whelp...guess my MBP will be milling about Shanghai for a while." Tracking still doesn't provide an arrival date; still says "delivery date will be provided as soon as possible."

So I landed in Memphis on a wendesday at like 4am and didn't leave Memphis until the next Tuesday at 3am - but Memphis to my local hub is a one trip thing so I got my MacBook that same Tuesday morning. Thanks for the app!
