You ordered one day after preorder was open and you get it in January? What I do not understand is some people ordering much later than you with same specs got their machines already.

Anyone here orders there other from Apple? I placed an order for mine on 11/29 for a custom spec 14" model. Does that mean I'd also have to wait about 1-2 months for it to ship?

This is way too scary and terrifying. I hope you have an Apple polishing ClothGuys…. Guys…. I literally said to myself 3 seconds before this happened, I need to be extra careful with this new computer since I’m not using a keyboard protector. (I’m also usually very careful with my devices).
This happened, three seconds after I said this to myself. Luckily it was still inches away.
Keep in mind that there are many different SKUs for different countries due to different keyboards. I believe that is one reason why I was able to get my MPB in Italy sooner - an abundance of units made with Italian keyboards. Possibly one of many factors. Supply comes from the same sources.

Reading you all I have to say I am less worried But worried still as my MBP left the factory warehouse on Nov 27th and seems stuck in Shanghai for several days now... Initial delivery was btw Nov 25th and Dec 2nd (UPS tracking tool mentioned a delivery on Dec 1st).
Now the UPS tracking page shows 'The delivery date will be provided as soon as possible.' and it is so since 4 days now.
Obviously the delay is not due to production issues, only to shipment. How come UPS don't know when they will ship it?? That's what worries me most

I got it a day early, but it came so late in the day that I just put it aside and went to bed. I know a lot of people would have been too excited to go to sleep or would have been itching for their alarm clock to go off, but I absolutely detest setting up computers. Even though migration assistant makes a lot of it easy, there's still plenty of quirks that you end up with and this process drives me nuts.
Consequently when my alarm went off, I thought "Do I really want to open that box? No I don't. I'm going back to bed."

My first impressions? As others have said, it looks a lot sleeker in person than in photos, but the way the weight is distributed makes it feel heavier than my 2010 Unibody even though it's lighter. I wasn't expecting it to feel this heavy. I don't like that, but I'll get used to it.
Now, one thing I am eager for is to finally try out the speakers and the high impedance headphone port to hear that sound everyone's been raving about.

Wow. I'm glad mine didn't go through Memphis. I was stunned when I got an out for delivery notice a day early for mine yesterday because I only received a notification that my package landed in Cincinnati at 7am. 5 hours later in San Jose, I get an out for delivery notification which I at first assumed had to be an error until I checked online.
I just saw this MaxTech video discussing how he still hasn't received his Day 1 order of the 24 core GPU unit which he ordered on day 1.
I've ordered a 16" 24-core GPU on Nov 20th and Apple (Canada) is still estimating Dec10-16 delivery.
After watching the MaxTech video I was worried that my delivery will start slipping if someone that ordered on release still hasn't got one.
Have others had issues receiving their 24GPU order on time? Has anyone had one ship recently?
One theory is there is a lack of "defective" 32-core GPU chips which Apple would be using for the binned 24GPU chip. Some speculate Apple may have to just use fully functioning 32-core GPU chips and bin them in software.

12/01 - Apple CC Pending Charges
12/02 - UPS Tracking with no info except for # shows up in MyChoice and Apple Shipped E-mail.
12/03 - Shipping from Rialto, CA, which is about 60 miles ENE of me, through Ontario and the UPS App/My Choice says delivery between - 1100-1400 today!
It's possible from that distance, but would have to be a special truck, as I know most of my UPS shipments go through a local UPS CC in Gardena first. I wonder if the earlier scans from China and Import Scans, etc., will show up later, or maybe this was an MBP that was already in the US for store stock.

Return stock, looks like you’re getting a lightly used one plus it says the service is next day air.
