just curious, what is the general experience/timing from ‘on its way‘ to delivered?

That may vary, as it depends on the carrier. This is where you can, depending on who the carrier is, track the actual flights your shipment is on, so you can see when it leaves, when it hits your town, and out on the truck for delivery.

understood. was just trying to gauge general timing. my system is on the way and shows arrived Incheon Korea as of about 5am on 3/8. still shows delivery as 3/9 by 7pm so ‘assume’ it may show usa arrival later today but…. regardless still better at this point than 3/14

Who is the carrier? My guess is if it's in RKSI, it's more than likely UPS. All cargo flights make a stop at Anchorage before heading either to Louisville (UPS) or Memphis (FDX) for their incoming customs scan. From there, it heads out to the closest airport their respective carriers have to a distribution center near you.

For example, if someone in St. Joseph Missouri had a BTO Mac being delivered, it would have gone from, say, ZSPD (Shanghai) - RKSI (Seoul/Incheon) - PANC (Anchorage) - KSDF (Louisville; get the incoming customs scan here) - KMCI (Kansas City; closest distro center to St. Joseph, gets an incoming and departing scan here), then on a truck for the 35 minute drive up to St. Joseph, gets scanned in at the local facility, then put on a truck out for delivery.

So it all depends on the timing of the flights, if they are on time, and the scans at each facility. You should have been given a tracking number by Apple for that, as well as the carrier for it. From there, you can track the Mac from facility to facility. Crossing those scans with incoming and departing flights, you can get down to as granular as which flight your package is on.

Hey bradl, its ups. cleared customs and hit Anchorage last night, left AK about 11:30 pm, scanned in at Louisville 9:26 am today. still saying delivery by 7 pm today, but am in TX so that’s pretty optimistic. we’ll see

That still might be possible, depending on where you are in TX. There are distribution centers in every major city, let alone a facility for taking the incoming and departing scans. And depending on the flights out of Louisville and proximity to the closest distribution center, they could very well get it to you today. If not, it will be tomorrow for sure.

didn’t get to dfw until late yesterday. status now shows preparing for delivery so today sometime. then patience while my last backup restores.

One 16" MBP M1 Max, ordered late Oct/early Nov. Mail today from reseller here in Norway (Eplehuset) estimated delivery 4-5 weeks.
2 other macs, same model, ordered early early January - delivery estimated 5-6 weeks.

Wow.. wasn't expecting that quick a turnaround.. ordered the 16" MBP M1 Pro, 10/16/16, 16GB, 2TB (the 2TB made it BTO) on March 8th.. Got the shipped notice yesterday from it heading out already from Shanghai! it's already in Kansai/Osaka! So no Dim Sum for this Mac, and hopefully it has time for Sushi before it gets to this side of the planet and stuck with Golden Corral! 😂

I was hoping UPS would get it so I could pre-empt the delivery and pick it up myself.. but alas, no.. FDX, so it's going to MEM before heading back out here to NorCal.

The turn around time on M1 Pros is pretty quick it would seem. M1 Max is still a wait. My January 27th order still says March 23-April 5.... waiting, waiting, waiting.

Yeah M1 Pro shipping times have improved, but M1 Max orders are still backed up.

I ordered a 14" base model on 3/8. Expected delivery is 3/22-30. Status still says processing.

I ordered this on March 16th:

16-inch MacBook Pro - Space Gray

Hardware:

  • 64GB unified memory
  • Apple M1 Max chip with 10-core CPU, 32-core GPU, and 16-core Neural Engine
  • 1TB SSD storage
It says estimated delivery is April 25th to May 2nd. I am super excited but have a looooong wait. Usually Apple ships early but from reading other posts it seems Apple's estimates here are pretty close for the M1 Max chips.

Well, apparently the Mac I ordered doesn't have a liking to Memphis style ribs, hamhocks, and chitterlings (can't blame it on the chitterlings! ??) because it is already here in Sacramento!

However, the crappy part is FDX. They will not release it from their distro center, even if you go there to pick it up yourself and prove that you are the owner of it. Further, they will not deliver it until the date and time they have scheduled. So while it is here, my delivery date isn't until Tuesday. So it will sit in FDX's distribution center for another 5 days. Ugh... ?

I got the charge from Apple this morning, on M1 Max 14" 24GPU 32GB 1TB, I ordered on 29th Jan and our OG window was the same, maybe you got the charge as well.

Just a heads up: a lot of MBP 14 and 16 users are having this ongoing issue for a few months now (started around November/December)

After 51 days, my order is finally preparing to ship. No tracking info yet...so no exact delivery date yet either.
Mine still shows "Processing" ... but it's kinda same behaviour I experienced on November, card was charged on 23rd, but till 24th-25th I couldn't see the PTS, then it shipped on 27th. Hope this follows a similar process, at least, the charge on my CC didn't drop and it's still showing it as "Authorised", have you been charged at least?

Anyway, congrats, it seems we're finally getting our Macbooks, fingers crossed and I hope mine changes soon to PTS as well :)

It was sort of strange... I happen to wake up at around 4:15am for no reason at all. I look at my phone and my Apple Card had no new charges. A second later, boom... two charges- one for the computer and the other for AppleCare+. Now I'm just waiting for actual shipping info and a tracking number.
