I’m wondering if this will fixed my issue I’m having with my 16” mbp connecting thunderbolt to display port it just flickering to black then back

I get this too on my 2018 MB Pro using HDMI. Granted it's using an USB-C to HDMI adapter, but it still does it from time to time. Oddly enough, it usually happens when I plug in my charger.

F***ing R*****s..... Oh Sorry, losing control over myself with this crapOS 12. Oh, sorry again! Of course I meant macOS 12.
Apple is unable fixing the most trivial bugs these days. This stupid Bluetooth Prefpane bug has been around since the early days of Monterey pre-release betas.

Also, that stupid tap to click fix for their touchpads broke the swipe gestures and it's still not fixed in RC1 of macOS 12.1. Goddamn FreeSync and GSync implementation also still causing flicker. Seriously, Apple?

There are two issues I'm hoping they could solve soon:
  1. A weird bug where Safari doesn't become active after being inactive for a period of time (I don't think anyone else has this problem and it's difficult to explain, but it's certainly making things increasingly frustrating.
  2. The flickering issues on external monitors when in dark mode or when the monitor is displaying dark backgrounds.

I realize that they won't be resolved in this update (especially the second one, since I know I'm not the only one experiencing this issue), but... well, one can dream I guess.

Hopefully it also fixes the external drives disconnecting if put to sleep is enabled, the screen flicker with adaptive sync turned on for many 4k displays, the Safari bugs that have me using the app in unintended ways as work arounds, and the general instability of the system that Monterey introduced for Mac Mini users like myself.

@Junior117 If you haven't done so, please join this topic regarding the VRR flickering:

@Nihilvor The flicker has nothing to do with 4k. I use a 1440p screen with FreeSync and suffer from that as well. The problem simply is a faulty implementation of FreeSync and GSync.

could someone test if it is possible again to run applications "in low resolution mode"?
this was removed in 12.0.1. all apps are run in high resolution mode, terrible on older macs with 5k display ...

yup. tap to click has been fixed (mostly)...still some oddities that i didnʻt think were there prior to the previous beta update. canʻt complain bc thatʻs the downside of using a beta...but i also put in a ticket like the rest of you.

Makes more sense to me to just wait for a more mature version to update rather than updating immediately and then making a huge deal about inevitable day 1 bugs in the first release that are bound to quickly be fixed. Yes Apple could and should do better but macOS is one of the largest and most complex pieces of software ever created and was developed when everyone was working from home due to a global pandemic.
Is there ANYTHING we can't blame on the "pandemic"?!

Come on.... I agree Mac OS is very complex and sure to have some bugs on release day. But if your software team is working from home instead of in the office, that's no excuse to do an inferior job! If they can't be trusted to test their code when some supervisor isn't looking over their shoulder in person, then they didn't hire the right people for the job.
