I guess the general design is ok, but there are 3 things I'd change:

1. Make the buttons black like on the iPad, and make the 2 separate volume buttons a rocker bar.

2. Get rid the the 2 seams on the side.

3. Make the aluminum bezel flush with the edges of the top and bottom pieces.

someone go and explain to me why on earth they didn't turn on the phone?!?!? That could have easily proven if the device was actually a legit apple, at least a prototype! Just showing off the case, which I actually do like, proofs nothing!

Anyone?! Why did they not fire it up?

It was apparently remotely disabled by Apple.

my take?

it is a prototype, they haven't said anything or denied it because they dont care, its not the final design, and Steve Jobs will reveal something very special on June 22nd.

i bet they are reading these rumours and laughing their asses off.

Screen

Does anyone know if the screen is an OLED? how come a lot of the internals haven't been released?

I’m starting to think that also. According to Gizmodo, the guy still works there. It must not be that big of a deal.

I was wondering why no mention of an A4 processor.

No the age old question that has prob been asked a million times already if not will be. Will AT&T let me upgrade from my 3GS I got last summer or do I have to wait for iPhone 5G?

Who cares? OLED sucks in sunlight.

OLED is a way better looking screen, it increases battery life by drawing less energy, and since the iphone is becoming a media powerhouse for games and movies, it only makes sense to have the best screens

LCD > OLED until they can make one you can read with in sunlight better.

Many of us will answer you with a question: "Why didn't you read the article?"

Does anyone think it is possible that this is a Apple made "mock-up" case (if you will)? The final case wouldn't have screws or seams, but this is just something they use to design the inside parts?

I haven't read all the posts so I'm sorry if someone has already mentioned this. Gizmoto has posted an article about the person that "lost" this Iphone. It is claimed that the phone was lost on March 18th. I find it very interesting that 8 days later on March 26th Steve Jobs and Eric Schmidt were spotted having coffee and it was reported that Jobs was overheard saying "They're going to see it all eventually so who cares how they get it. Let's go discuss this somewhere more private." Could they have been talking about the lost iPhone?

why dont you learn what your talking about before you talk.

"OLED technology is used in commercial applications such as small screens for mobile phones and portable digital audio players (MP3 players), car radios, digital cameras, and high-resolution microdisplays for head-mounted displays. Such portable applications favor the high light output of OLEDs for readability in sunlight, and their low power drain."

that says its favored for its readability in sunlight, not its impossibility to read in sunlight

Having followed Apple for the past 15 years, I truly think that this is the most aesthetically perfect thing they've designed so far. I never much liked the curved plastic back of the iPhone. This new design takes Apple minimalism to the next level. It's perfect!

Great piecing together of the chronology! That's a very very good point. Back then, that quote didn't make much sense but it does now.

Maybe quit being a n00b quoting Wikipedia and try using a Nexus One outside and compare it to an iPhone

Lol

LOL, it's a working Prototype!!!! This is not the final design of the iPhoneHD.

IT'S A PROTOYPE!!!!!!

My friends at Apple are laughing their asses off at this insanity.

Anyone know if this phone supports the latest "LTE 4G Network" currently being deployed by cellular providers?

Didn't make it through all the posts so pardon me if this is a repeat. I seem to remember an Apple Patent a few months back for using touch on the back of the phone to control the front display. Is the flat back a precursor to a capacitive touch back?

Plus the phone will lay flat on a desk and not rock, I am a fan.
