So what.... The Aluminum MacMini is completely out of the question? Hmm, strange cause I'm sure we'll get it soon though... :D

HECK, YES. BANNER TIME!

I was wondering when these would show up! Now we have to wait for the indoor banners that are not cryptic in the least that this forum completely and utterly convolutes to mean "The xMac, iPhone nano, and MacBook Nano are imminent!"

OH, FRICKING NO. Small TALK... BIG... IT'S AN iPHONE NANO.

I've lost all faith in Apple's business sense.

My predictions:

Snow Leopard preview and demo
Mac mini update, possible redesign
iMac update, probable quad-core
LED Cinema Displays
Possible 17" MacBook Pro, if so, with 2.67/2.93 GHz CPUs, if so, possible use of them on rest of MacBook Pro line

NO iPhone nano
NO Mac Pro update
NO netbook

Apple Keynotes are always unpredictable, otherwise proven by rumors.
Mac Mini, iMac, Macbook Pro must be updated. I would hold on to the netbook idea till further into 2009. As for the iPhone Nano, I have some doubts about its existence but nevertheless it looks imminent.

It's all about iTunes, always has been, always will be. It's their toll-bridge

Well, my two cents go to the "Even the Small Talk will be Big" meaning that, whoever gives the keynote (Schiller) will have to add "one more thing", and then Steve Jobs will appear for a "small talk" but announcing the iNetMac (iTablet, whatever).

iLife/iWorks going to the cloud (my guess, as a lite version) will allow iPhone and iNetMac+3G users work on the road modifying or creating docs until they reach their desktop to use the full version.

My disappointment with this MacWorld is turning into excitement.. damn reality distortion field...

May the RDF be with you!!

You're preaching to the choir, my friend. :p

Howcome we're seeing the new processors pop up in PCs? I thought you said they haven't gone into production yet? And what's stopping Apple from announcing the new Mac Pro and that it will be shipping in X months. They did that with the iPhone (for different reasons, though).

Few Ideas!

:apple:1. The iPhone Nano
:apple:2. A netbook (Possibley a 11 or 12 inch macbook!)
:apple:3. I cheap and improved mac mini
:apple:4. A 17 inch $899 iMac

Number 4 is the most unlikely!

:apple:5. An Apple tv that may browse web/email and stream Hulu ETC!

Number 4 is the most unlikely!

Yeah, seeing as the 17" was already phased out, and people want larger displays in a desktop. Most retail stores only have one 17" monitor to choose from. 20" is probably the most common.

1. It's ALREADY aluminum.
2. No, it's just a given now. It's as much of a lock as any Apple update can be.

Truthfully I'm not even expecting anything to wow me this time around, I've kind of given up on that wow effect...

Having said that I'm sure I'll be banging my head against the wall trying to figure out how to justify buying a MacMini when it comes out looking all hot and awesome.

That or something else they'll introduce.

However, rumors about the iApps going solo online sounds horrible. I don't get the logic behind that. What about the countless people who DOESN'T have internet connection, or if they do, never fast enough to support those massive files if it's something like iMovie. I don't see it happening. But that's just me, maybe I don't know enough about the concept.

I'm wondering if they'll do a revision update on the MacBooks and MacBook Pros.

Also, I'd love them to show a CLEAR CUT, version of Snow Leopard, with cost details, improvements and comparisons that aren't numbers on a slide but actual comparison between the current and the new OS on its way.

I might be needy but if they want us to pay $129 for another OS update that's got no new features, but boasts speed improvements, I need some convincing on that. Lately Apple has been a bit too up it's own a$$ when it comes to promotion of their stuff. Most of the time it resembles that damn Segway thing that was supposed to change the world and uh.. it didn't... and it's still a billion bucks and pretty much useless.

When the hell will we have Hoverboards??? THAT'S what I want to know!!!

:)

Hopefully the Mac Mini will be updated- it's about the most I can afford at the moment and I need a new computer.

Maybe Steve will go up for one last "one more thing" and announce something that everyone has been waiting for... it will cement Apple's dominance for years to come. No, it's not some tablet computer, or netbook, or other such mundane thing. Steve will announce cut, copy, and paste for the iPhone! It will change the phone landscape forever (just kidding ;)). It would be pretty nifty if Steve came on stage at one point.

I've been here longer than you :p.

Come Tuesday I will refer you back to my post re: iPhone nano :p.

Now, all joking aside (since you have way more posts than I do). Howcome we're seeing the new processors pop up in PCs? I thought you said they haven't gone into production yet? And what's stopping Apple from announcing the new Mac Pro and that it will be shipping in X months. They did that with the iPhone (for different reasons, though).

Those are the desktop line of Nehalem chips, called Core i7. The Mac Pro uses the Xeon line; server chips. Code name: Gainestown. We don't have an official name for them yet, so I don't call them Core i7 because I've heard rumors that that might just be the name for only the desktop chips.

He would walk up on the stage (Actual event will become more emotional), then announce the... "But there's one more thing..." After he's explained that he'll need more time with his family, still claiming he's not sick, he'll say... today I'd like to introduce to you... The brand new Apple Invention, we've worked on this for the past 10 years, and we think we pretty much nailed it. Say hello to me! People will be looking confused at each other, murmuring, making faces... but then Steve will put up the first slide... Today the company will be taken over by iSteve, a revolutionary Nexus-6 android, capable of all the funnest features of the iPhone, including Bluetooth transfers of your songs, I'll sing them. The battery life is going to last between 1 to 2 months, all you need to do is plug in the power cord right here... and as he's about to demonstrate people in shock and awe start to take picture of iSteve pulling down his pants... then start to clap uncontrollably.

Cost? Not available for the first 5 years, but when the newer exoskeleton will be produced, you'll be able to order yours as your favorite person, ranging from the rights from Tricia Helfner from Battlestar Galactica to Jean Claude Van Damnit.

Powered by the future of chips... Intel and Atari.

;)

A day, sure to be remembered...

PS. On a serious note... I too wish for a MacMini... The first CoreDuo I had was fantastic... I hope this will become an amazing little machine...
