That get to the chase here what you mean is you really want is laptop, 2 in 1 laptop or convertible that has touch screen. I have answer go with windows they have that. :p

Steve Jobs was very not for all this and very anti Microsoft surface. It not a tablet and it is not laptop it is nothing. He was very anti Microsoft surface tablets.

Well it is a tablet that it is running full desktop OS and full desktop apps , it lacks touch user friendly interface like the iPadOS and the mobile apps selection are worse than android. Well Windows 11 looks much more touch user friendly on paper and in the demo videos that us see how it really plays out. Most people that buy a Microsoft surface use it as laptop not a tablet. Steve Jobs was very not for all this way of going about this.

If you get screen that big it not a tablet. The tablet where a device you hold in one hand on the go or in bed. In one hand that is light like paper not book.

Well sure laptops are very mobile friendly now days and are very light weight now days like the MacBook air and Dell XPS 13 inch but it still got dam keyboard in the way and the screen is bigger. The tablets are more mobile friendly than laptops no matter how thin they make it.

Laptops you put on your lap or the table and you do your work there. Well tablets you hold with one hand sitting on the couch, laying in bed, walking and moving around.

After Steve Jobs Apple has lost its vision we have very large iPad product line trying to grab every price points now and different sizes. We have pro phones and pro this and pro that.

And Apple that sorta of going down a Microsoft path but not going all way and stuck some where in the middle.

The company has no vision where it wants to see the iPad in 5 years from now. They are just copying players of Microsoft and other companies now for more profits.

If I'm going to get 13 inch tablet with a keyboard I would just get MacBook air as it is not tablet any more no matter how good Apple makes iPadOS. Even if iPadOS is million times better now or anyone OS. If you must really have both worlds get MacBook air and $320 iPad to do 90% what you need the 10% on pro device. If $320 iPad is too much get used one two or three years old and just get MacBook air or MacBook pro to do the pro work on.

Well they have not done what you want, and every time they are asked about doing what you want they say they will not. That pretty much says it.

There is quote after quote after quote that all say this. That and the fact that are not doing what you want seem to indicate that we are in agreement. I guess they could agree with you, but hate you so much they will not do what you want out of spite, but I do not think that is it either.
That quote doesn't stop complainants, not a fact. Clearly, many people dont agree on that.

Is it defending when X person uses it as intended, and for a professional use? Or are you being ridiculous?
Define intended when iPadOS limit the hardware performance while OS itself is limiting iPad Pro? Apple kept claiming that iPad can replace laptop and yet it's never did. It's Apple to blame for saying that.

You seem to love moving goal posts. I have acknowledged many times that you represent a small group of people who are very loud on here and on tech YouTube. However, your original statement to which I was responding was to show that Apple did not support your position, which all those quotes and their actual market behavior demonstrates. (Again, unless you have done something about which we do not know that has made Apple so hate you that even though they know you are right, they are not going to do what you want. I am pretty sure that is not the case.)

Few? Still without no proofs.

I mean even I own an 11” iPad Pro, but I won’t pretend that it’s some sort of productivity device.
Fortunately, the vast majority of potential customers don’t need some sort of productivity device.

If you want to do anything more than YouTube, you’d be better served with a chromebook.

All the people happily buying and using these devices as they are, not as you wish they were.

Apple says that iPads replace laptops for many users. It did for both me and my BF, as well as many others. Just as Apple said it would. I no longer have a MacBook Pro, and my BF no longer uses his 99% of the time.

All does NOT represent all people. You are making a wrong statement.

And Apple failed to prove it.

For millions of folks, it already has. Apple sells more iPads than HP is selling laptops. :)
And yet, the market share of Windows still higher than iPadOS. iPadOS is just another iOS. Nothing more.

Another iOS that’s currently outselling Windows laptops :D. Acer, Dell and HP WISH they could sell as many laptops as Apple sells iPads.

No proofs, no thanks.

iOS is way below Windows' market share. And iPadOS is way less than iOS. What makes you think iPad sell more than PC?

Please show me anywhere that I said “all people”. You have once again moved the goal posts, as you seem to do every time.

Apple does not have to prove anything to you. You want them to change their behavior, you need to prove something to them.

That is true. It is also higher than that of macOS. Just so I am clear, is it your argument that if Apple just released macOS for the iPad, they would overtake Windows in market share? If not, can you explain your point? Microsoft tried to sell tablets for a long time and still does not have significant share. That is simply because they wanted a laptop/tablet blend and the bulk of customers do not want that (despite what you wish were the case).

I said the same thing over and over again. iPadOS is limiting the power of M1 intentionally. Why do you deny the fact for?

Would they, though?
No, that’s just like saying that Windows users, another group that specifically chose AGAINST macOS, might be happier with a more Mac like experience. Mac users just can’t believe that there are people in the world that don’t prefer the Mac. :)

I just spec’d one out. Top of the line iPad Pro 12.9 with top everything you can get including AppleCare. It came to 2538.00 so where I live at its 10% tax so add another 253.80 for taxes and I’m almost at $2800 so it can be done.

Better yet, purchase it from B&H and you pay no tax!

Hahaha, is that how you defend Apple's stupid idea?

What's stupid is:
"Oh let's make iPad so much like the Mac that it's almost like buying a Mac minus the keyboard and mouse. Then require the user to buy a magic keyboard to use it like a Mac!!!!!! MORE MONEY FOR APPLE!"

That is the dumbest idea I've ever heard.

What’s the point as long as it still runs iPadOS that fails terribly at multitasking?

That's your stupid idea. MS's Surface is doing well. Why do you even think that way? Cant innovate more my ass?

The fact that the iPad is almost twice as powerful as my Mac Pro is amazing, but iPadOS means that it doesn't actually do anything I need it to. Hopefully they fix this lost opportunity.
But you can run fart apps at 120hz with full HDR! What more could a pro user possibly want?
