I'm a little annoyed with Apple on this one. I contacted them via their online chat earlier and explained that there was stuff still on my Apple Watch that hadn't synced to my iPhone, but they made me go ahead and do an unpair and re-pair. I've now lost yesterday and todays work outs (I've manually entered them into Health, but they haven't synced over to Activity), but hopefully this will have sorted out whatever was draining the battery.
The data from Health goes one way unfortunately. Activity to Health and not the other way around.
Not sure why we are not able to manually enter a workout and receive credit but it would be nice.

The thing that really annoyed me was the fact that I told them that the data wasn't on Activities on my iPhone yet, and asked if there was a way to try to force it, but was told that the data would be saved...yeah right. I've just spent another two hours on Apple Chat trying to figure it out but even they couldn't help.

I had substantial drain the day after I updated to watch OS 2. I was losing about 1% every two to five minutes. Last night I unpaired and then re-paired my watch, let it charge overnight to 100% and I can happily report that today, I lost 1% over the course of two hours.

Yesterday I did a reset and back up and now today I took it off the charger at 7:30 am and today I am currently at 90%, so MUCH better than yesterday. I went back to one of the old watch faces instead of the pictures ones so I may switch back to see if that is what drains it.

Yesterday though my watch all the sudden did loose connection to the phone and I could not reestablish so I had to reboot the phone and watch to get them to see one another again, that was odd. Joys of Watch OS2 I guess

too had an issue after installing public release from GM.. watch stopped charging, wasn't going above 84% irrespective of being on charger for hours. unpaired, and set up as new has fixed the problem for now.

Hi, I have been using my watch for 6 weeks, never using more than 45% so when I put it on the charger at night it has 55%.
After installing the 2.0 last night which took hours, I woke this morning took it off charge after 4 hours I only had 10% left, one hour later I looked and it had shut down so lost data for most of today.

Charging now so hope its a one off?

Thank

Paul

I can now say that after un pairing and re-pairing battery went back to normal, but if I select the time lapse the battery goes down noticeably more!!

Me too. Did a unpair / re-pair last night, went through my normal routine today, 7am off the charger, including a bike ride in on the workout app, lots of messages, etc.
5pm yesterday I was at 30%
Today I'm at 70%
*phew*

Literally just did my unpair/repair restore as it took an age to update to 9.0.1, hopefully it will sort, with use tomorrow. Have to do it all again Friday with my new phone

completed my unpair/re-pair and now my battery life is back to normal. been off the charger since almost 6 hours and with normal use, I'm at 91%. this time yesterday i had it off the charger for only 3 hours and it was already around 75%. now if only the "unable to connect" error when checking the usage gets fixed, i should be back to normal.

I can say my battery has drastically improved after doing the re-paring. Makes you wonder what causes these issues to begin with.

yea and it wasn't like my phone battery was equally affected. then i could conclude it was a connection issue constantly reading back and forth, killing the batteries. however, it was one sided. only the watch was draining bad.

I've used only 4% since 12pm, it's now 2:50pm. Don't ask me how's that's possible but that's what my watch is saying. Before I would easily chew through at least 10% per hour even if I wasn't using it.

I did a repair but restored from a backup. I also noticed my battery was still draining - I tried rebooting phone (6+) and watch prior to the re-pair. I also realized "Hey Siri" was turned on - I always turn this off - i have the 38MM and turning that off helps my battery drastically. It was still draining faster than normal so I let it charge up to 100% and took it off the charger at 730pm and kept it on till around 1030 - it was down to 82%. I'm going to see if the battery improves today. I got better battery life with OS2 GM - I actually removed the battery complication from my watch face it was so great. It's back there now so I can watch it closely. If I still see battery drain happening I will likely do a re-pair as new watch over the weekend. I know when the new iOS 8.4 came out I had horrendous battery drain on my phone and WATCH and letting it settle in for a couple of days and my battery life returned to normal. I'm hoping that same methodology will apply here - i really don't want to set up as a new watch.

Cheers,
B

The unpair repair and restore from back up has definitely worked for me same charging conditions as yesterday battery is currently at 89% this time yesterday it was under 50%. Glad this is sorted.

Since my 6+ is on 9.1Beta, which has a bug and not allow me to upgrade my Watch OS. So I am forced to unpair it, upgrade the watch via another iphone, and then re-pair with my 6+.

So far, there is no battery issue for me. Here is my battery's usage capture. I wear it for 26 hours, with 3hr 51min screen on time, and still has 33% battery left.

I don't have the exact comparison with for Watch OS 1.0.1. However here is another capture when the watch still on 1.0.1 and the 6+ is on 8.4JB.

This is 30hr standby + 4hr 44min screen on time. The battery drops down to 16%.

So, 4hr 44min (284min) vs 3hr 51min (231min) usage time, which is about 23% more. Since we know that the battery is mainly drained during the usage time.

Therefore, we can do the following calculation to predict the 30hr standby + 4hr 44min usage battery consumption on OS2.

(100% -33%) x 1.23 ~ 83%

Which is almost exactly the same as the 84% (100%-16%) battery consumption on OS 1.0.1.

Since this is purely base on the usage time + standby time, so won't affected by the new 70s screen on setting, or how I use the watch (e.g. playing with watch OS2 to drain the battery). In my case, I can conclude that if everything works correctly. The battery life should be more or less the same as watch os 1.0.1.

Back to say that the battery life on mine is back to normal, or maybe even a bit better. It had about 40% remaining after, oh, 16-17 hours of wear.

As I mention in another post for this problem, after I paired my watch for my new 6s Plus my watch was losing 10% per hour so I did a reset and recharged the watch and after 3 hours usage it is still reading 100% which is difficult to believe but amazing if it's true

Ok, I've experienced the battery issue via OS2. I figured the only change that I have made recently is the Dark Storm App via my customized watch options. I have disabled this App, and now it seems my battery is back to normal, go figure. Anyone else experiencing this as a common issue due to the Dark Storm App? Your comment and thoughts are welcome.

Peace and blessings,

Azekecse

Mine usually fixes itself as well with an unpair and repair, however it goes back to draining after a few days again. I have a feeling it's a specific app doing it.
