This is whole operation is pretty messed up. Zero communication from anyone from Maxfield or Apple with the people in line. We just hear tenth hand about what is and isn't available. The line is moving painfully slow as well. Thank god it's so entertaining. Some good peeps in this crowd. Beware the neon mobster!
No, it looks like I won't be going. I dearly want to, but I have too much other stuff to do.
I spoke to someone in line on Twitter. He said it's doubtful anyone getting in line now will be able to get a watch. For anyone who was still considering heading out there.
Hehe I'm just getting mine delivered to my door. The Ontario facility is always crazy busy because it's their Western International hub.
I don't get why Apple would sell to a boutique retailer, but not directly at their stores.

Intentional or not, it may work out in their favor. They did sell a couple million directly online, and only a few thousand, maybe not even 5k or 10k, at these 5 or 6 boutique stores. Seems it's generating enough buzz to get their foot in the fashion industry with the watch.

No. Limited selection. At this point I think it's black and white sport and the 38mm Milanese.
Also if you're a wealthy regular at Maxfield you can cut the line apparently.
And if you're part of a shady Boston/Russian group you can buy up tickets and make repeated trips for multiple watches.

Yes. They're saying it's not an issue of supply at this point. It's time. In almost 5 hours they've let 110 customers from the line in. It's not taking 25 min per customer, which should give you an idea of how poorly run this is and how many "ftiends" of the store they're letting in.
Which one are you getting? Can you add another update when you get yours and also the latest on a 38mm sport black at that time? Maybe there's a chance after all still. Thank you

At #84 in line, they had juuuust run out of 42mm Stainless models (all they had was Milanese all day), but they still had gobs and gobs of 42mm Space Gray sport models, which is what I got (attached).
I've still got a 4/24-5/8 SS Classic buckle 42 coming in next week so I need to decide which I like better and sell the other, but the space gray is really slick and I could be happy just getting the blue Leather Loop and calling it a day.
Fit and finish, however, is a little tiny bit off. I can see a small peek of ribbon cable on the top right of the display as if the screen is, like, one degree off of perfectly mounted. It only shows up in bright sunlight when the screen is off, but definitely something that wasn't present in the try-on models and may be something I can swap it out at the Apple Store for. I'll try to get pics of this tonight.
As for Maxfield - very, very, very slow. It felt like the iPhone 4 launch where the lines took alllllll day to clear. Like, two people in at a time, and random VIPs got to simply roll in past the 12-hour waiters. Doors opened at 9 for first customers. I wasn't checked out and on my way until 12:30PM. Still, grateful for the opportunity to buy one retail!

They had 38mm of pretty much everything all day. It was least popular I think.
When I went in, they still had 38mm stainless milanese and both 38mm sport finishes.
If I head out before they close, do you think they'll have ANY left? I'm desperate for ANY config at this point.
