This is the second email I got from them. Mean anything to you Superman?

Not completely sure about this but I think it's like the middle of the night for people in the UK right now so if that's where the IMEI processing is being handled, we can probably expect a response in 5 hours ish. The first e-mail was probably automatically generated and the following ones will be composed by a human.

That's the second email of three, the next one will either tell you they have unlocked the phone or that they can't cause it's not a vodafone phone, just depends on whether the person dealing with it actually checks

If it doesn't go through then I'll be trying multiple times. If it does go through then I'll be trying multiple phones. Mad props to OP for finding this.

If they say it's not a Vodafone phone, any reason not to try again?

Any response yet? I'm getting close to the end of the 48 hour window, but still don't have the last email.

ha ha well I feel stupid thanks :p. I just didn't know what sam was.

So did you try the deactivate via SAM and see if you got the message upon re-activation via iTunes? I just sent my request today, but I installed SAM just so I have it if I get lucky.

BTW...Can you tell exactly what you put in each form field so that those of us in the US can get lucky too? Specifically, what did you select in the pull down menu and what did you put in for phone model?

Hope it works for me too!

I don't think we're going to get anything today whereas it's Sunday. I'm pretty sure in the UK Sunday is a day off kind of day, kinda like in Canada. Correct me if I'm wrong. I still haven't received the follow up e-mail.

For phone model you can probably type whatever you want in that box, but for phone make where there's a drop down list, you have to choose Vodaphone Phones because Apple is not an option.

I guess that makes sense, well hopefully we hear something soon, it would be awesome if I didn't have to upgrade to the iPad baseband to unlock.

You're probably correct, but may phone companies are 24/7 operations. However phone unlocking probably doesn't fall under high-priority support!

Not to mention resale value for an iPhone is significantly higher if you are able to advertise it as factory unlocked.

I don't think they will just leave us hanging; like another poster mentioned, he got an e-mail that denied him.

Are there any other carriers that will do the same thing that we're trying to get Vodafone to do?

Thanks! I tried the 07 then my #. That did not fit. So instead of having 07-781 555 5555. I just had 0781 555 5555

I don't think it really makes a difference; I believe that the OP was just trying to suggest that we use the 07 prefix so that we have a better chance of being accepted when they view our unlock request.

It made the difference between me being able to submit the request and not! Thanks guys! I really hope this works!

Personally I would use random numbers after the 07 due to the fact to number you submitted would be classed as a gold number in the UK and would cost a small fortune to own it

ooo that stinks. I just did 3 iPhones with their real numbers. Hopefully my phone will be unlocked before my trip to Europe.

So, who has done this successfully? How long did it take, what country are you in, and what carrier was your iPhone bought under?

Can someone explain to me how we'd use SAM to see if we are truly unlocked? I know how to get SAM in Cydia but don't understand how it would let us know that the unlock worked.

I haven't heard back yet, btw :)
