"Me" doesn't work yet for me

Most likely it's because Apple is based in the states. It's logical that they test locally first.

my me.com address doesn't work yet. I live in NY and have an address that starts with a "c"

who knows how they're rolling this out.

and me.com wasnt they could of tried to buy it,
but then I dont think @mm.com would work as much as @me.com

and instead of people "thinking we work for apple," if we were @mm.com, then people "would think we make M&Ms."

And me.com is "stupid"...we're never happy.

Honestly if I listen to my Apple fanboy attitude I would renew the subscription
But Dropbox works so well for me, it's so fast and stable and not cluttered with remote shortcuts that I can't delete... Plus I have my own domain ...and therefore a personal email address...

How come I can never find the perfect product for me??? Feeling like i'll never be satisfied...

also works for me people.

me.com just seems a bit un-apple. they are all about branding, and I just don't see it. I don't mind it really, it just doesnt feel right...

they started with iPods, then :apple:TV, now on to iPhones and iPod touches...none of these are Macs. Nor do they require one to own a Mac. They don't want to limit their new found customer (PC owners) to not be included in their mobile and internet services. Sure for some apple purists, the switch to @me.com can be considered blasphemy, but it is all about apple expanding to products past than the Mac (just look, they changed from "Apple Computer, Inc." to just "Apple, Inc." not too long ago).

If people are stuck in their PC monotone lives, then maybe their Apple accessories can bring them color. And maybe, just maybe, they will buy a $2000 Mac in the future. <Steve J smiles>

How many executives does it take to change a mac to a me?
The same as it takes to change a lightbulb...
Just one - Cost for change - $1,40065.00

Quote from Steve Jobs about mac to me transition... "This time, I think we got it right"

LET'S ALL HOPE SO!!!

um, that's not even a valid number. perhaps the comma is misplaced or missing a digit. where did u get the figure from?

Sorry bu this is such a little teenage girl thing, buffy@me.com what grown man in his right mind would hand out a business card with this address.

This me.com thing is fine if you are 13 or 15 years old but come on for a grown man?

Apple could sell you guys just about anything and 90% of you would run out and buy it! Steve Jobs must laugh like a mental patient when he reads the numbers regarding how much crap they have sold lately.

good thing u can still use ur .mac address....

Working for me now.
Didn't work for me this afternoon (CET), but just checked (8:30 pm CET) and it works!!

As long as @mac.com lives on forever, I'm happy! I understand the non-Mac iPhone / PC / Exchange approach of @me.com, but I am sure I am not the only one being a proud owner of a @mac.com email address!

So, please Apple, let @mac.com stay forever :apple:

A cheap one that cant buy his own domain name for $10 bucks a year? Or how about a stupid man that cant read? Take your pick :)

Has anyone noticed that .mac mail on the iPod Touch is not working now? I can no longer send or receive anything. It was working fine before this. :(

My .Mac mail has been intermittent for the last several days. I assume this is due to the me.com changeover.

Still not working for me...and my .mac account is very up and down lately (actually for the last several weeks). I'm so frustrated with .mac right now. Certainly the new system can't be any worse!

the mail on your iPod, the mail.app in OSX, and the mail in your web browser are all the same thing. If the mail on your iPod doesn't work then it doesn't work on mail.app or the browser mail.

I thought so, but then I thought maybe there was some sync that the iPod was not getting somehow. But now I see that mail.app also can't reach the .mac server.

I have used my .Mac email for 2 years now and don't plan on changing anytime soon as it takes FOREVER for some contacts of mine to change their emails for me and it is just a big hassle

I have started to use a gmail name and slowly transitioning to that but even if I use that I will pay for my .Mac/.Me account for iDisk and other usage

Working for me now.

This is probably a bit dense. But can someone who has got their me.com account working just fill out a bit of info on what they actually did. I can get my me.com email working if I set it up as a mac.com address using new account etc and using all the same info regarding mail servers as mac.com, however if I send an email to me.com it then appears in both mac.com and me.com mailboxes. Someone mentioned setting up with mail.mobileme.com as the mail server. Has anyone done this and does it work? I tried it and it doesn't work for me. Says there's no such server.

Is mobileme email going to keep using the mac.com mail servers and you just have an email address that says me.com even though the mail server is still called mac.com? Or will the previous mac.com server change to me.com, or will both be running simultaneously. Or do I just not know what the hell I'm talking about?

I've never used my .mac email and I won't use the .me one either, I've had my own domains for years - thanks to having an unusual surname and being quick off the mark my email is @<my_surname>.com which is way cooler than anything else. So I'll be sticking with it. Though I reckon a lot of people will like the new .me address, its pretty good for personal use.

I haven't seen anything in Mobile Me of interest, other than the increase in disk space which will be useful. I can't understand anyone getting excited about the push features either - I pretty much already have that with my iPhone.

I reckon it will be pretty stupid to start using the new .me addresses before Apple have announced it is live. They might work at the moment but they could stop working again whilst Apple play about with it prior to launch.
