You just brought up a point I hadn't even considered... If my wife and I both have a 38mm we can share bands. Hmmm...

Dammit, this is the hardest decision I've ever had to make with an Apple product. I have an original Pebble, but I honestly feel like it looks bulky and awkward on me. That should be an indication that I should go 38mm, right?

Agreed about hardest decision. Think I may go 42mm. Wife thinks 38mm would look too small on me.

The watch i currently wear most of the time has a 37,5mm diameter and it certainly is not a womens watch, it is a mechanical watch (sinn 6015st) designed to be worn with a nice suit. However, yes, for men with very big wrists it is not the watch of choice, for most it looks good and fits well with a dress shirt.

Guess i will be going for the 38mm one, but i gonna try them in the store to be sure which to order.

If you check the measurements I posted above you'll see the original pebble is substantially taller than both apple watches. I think quite a few people will be surprised when they see the 38mm in rectangular form on their wrist. While anyone can pull of either watch, it really does look smaller than you'd think on a guys wrist IMO.

I was really torn but after printing them both out in exact sizes I can't bite the bullet on the 38mm, which I thought would be a no brainer originally.

The pebble dimensions include the prongs. That adds several mm's in both directions. The pebble steel, minus the prongs, is probably the same size as the 38mm

I own the original pebble, pebble steel, and 1st and 2nd gen android wear. I've laid the 38mm and 42mm over the top of all of them. The 38mm is substantially smaller than all of them, esp the pebble. Pebble steel is lug to lug extremely close to the 42mm apple watch. Apple watch is just slightly wider which matters less to me than height.

good to know. I have an original pebble, and I was actually shocked at the width of the apple watch when laying the print out over the pebble.

So I finally did printouts and on my 170ish mm wrist I like the look of the 42 much better.

So far I am sticking with 42mm SS with white sport band.

I have a 155mm wrist... I badly want the 42mm, but I know it will look too big. Anyone with a wrist this small getting a 42mm? I actually like the modern buckle, so I'm fine with 38mm, but I don't want it to limit how I interact with my watch because it's too small

I think the 38mm looks "sexier" but the extra screen real estate is still nice on the 42mm. The 42mm looks fine on you. Now you have to decide form or function :)

I think the screen on both the 38mm and 42mm are larger than the pebble. If you can read a pebble screen just fine, go with looks

I'm expecting to get the 38mm model, but will try on both sizes to be sure. 170mm wrists, so technically I could go either way; however, smaller seems like it'd be less obtrusive for fitness, and elsewhere I don't want to feel like I'm trying to show off. 42mm may be too much, "LOOK AT ME I HAVE AN APPLE WATCH!", for my style.

Using the augmented app to "try on" the watch I found very little difference between the two sizes. I have a 165mm wrist and am completely satisfied with how the 42mm looks on me. #

I have a 165mm wrist and I'm ordering the 42mm as well. I think if I got the 38mm I'd always second guess whether or not I made the right choice/want the bigger screen size. Cutouts looked fine on my wrist so I'm gonna order the 42 and if I have an issue I'll return it for the 38mm :)
