According to Robert Cringley, Steve Jobs paid Xerox Apple shares to get the invite to XeroxParc. Xerox management didn't have the vision to see the potential of their west coast division. Bill Gates, when confronted by Steve Jobs succinctly described Xerox as the neighbor who didn't care about his TV (XeroxParc technologies) and left his window open. By the time you got around (Jobs), someone else already took the TV.

Completely ignoring the fact that Bill Gates had no relationship to XEROX PARC and Jobs did. Steve Jobs asked permission and was given permission. Gates did not.

More of Microsoft's misleading information for uneducated shoppers

That is a sexist Ad.
They show a woman, suggesting she is stupid and don't know that macs are better.
If I was a woman I'd be pissed. :)

Haha! I can see Microsoft's new ads already.

Plain and simple, if you're a PC user, lots of your favorite stuff just might not work on a Mac. With PCs outselling Macs 10 to 1, the reality is that most computer software is developed to run on PCs.

This statement is completely wrong. Microsoft will twist the truth in any way to convince the uneducated shoppers out there...but its hard to beat a trend...and Apple is the most popular trendsetter in the consumer market.

"HI! I'm a PC (poor, clueless) user! And I love jumping through all the software hoops programmed by code hacks. It saved me $200 over buying a Macint*freezes*"

Why would Windows combat Apple at all? They are merely advertising their insecurity and the opponent's product. Most people will always buy PC because they want to save cash or play games or a dozen other nearly valid reasons.

Calling pc users poorer than their mac counterparts?

The elitist attitude by people like you give all of us mac owners a bad name. I have no doubt that you live with your parents and they bought you your macs. Hell, I doubt you've ever worked in a day in your life, LOL.

Try using Internet Explorer instead of Safari! ;)
It's not that :p

Loved how most of the reasons against Macs include "they act different than what you may be used to" and "they don't interact well with proprietary Microsoft software and formats"

Perhaps Ford could use that as an argument against using a Toyota. "They act different than what you may be used to"... :)

Apple should have jumped on the Blu-Ray bandwagon because it's what people think they want... in reality, Blu-Ray is a total mess (I author DVDs and have worked on a number of Blu-Rays for a living... trust me, Sony has already abandoned Blu-Ray. It's a mess and it's on it's way out)

You have absolutely no idea what your talking about right here. Blu-ray is likely the last physicial medium before the internet. We are not there yet in terms of internet.

so if we wanna talk about MS hardware lets look at the list

Zune who has these again?

360 ok but still has a 4 year old RROD issue.

Kin Bwah ha ha ha!

kinnetic seriously $200 for a accessory I'll pass

The funny thing to me is, Microsoft doesn't make a PC, yet they comment on the selection of Apple computers and color choices? What choices do you offer Microsoft.

However, I wholly agree with one observation about a PC capability:

watching HDTV and Blu-ray movies

Wake up Apple. I'll have a 27 inch HD screen on my soon to be ordered Mac Pro, but I won't even be able to stick a blu-ray in it? For over $3,000? Even when optioned out for over $16,000, no blu-ray read capability even. I can get that on an Acer at Wal-mart.

I looked up a few of the tweets from the feed. They're from January and earlier. How sad they need to go that far back to hear any "buzz."

On a funny and probably coincidental note, a few of the tweets highlighted were the poster's last tweet. Haha.

I use the keyboard more on both, if possible. But you need 3rd party software on either to make it truly useful. (they have both gotten better recently with some built-in capability) All those Windows shortcuts are random and different for every piece of software, AND hard to reach in most cases. Using 2 hands makes it not a 'shortcut'.
Actually, I don't need additional software to make it useful on Windows. ;) (Don't get me wrong, I use OS X at home, but that's one of the few things I like about using Windows at work.) Also, since there's an Alt key on both sides of the keyboard, I really don't usually need two hands. Come to think of it, most of the ones I use seem to be left-handed, anyway.

As for shortcut key combos, the unpredictability is about on par with OS X, although slightly more for shortcuts that never seem to have established a standard (much like how you never know where to find the "Options"--or is it "Preferences"?--menu, but that's app developers' faults, not Windows').

Keep in mind that I'm talking primarily about the "underlined letter" shortcuts (except for my tangent about Ctrl+ combos). If not time, they at least save me from having to move the mouse to click on things. :)

The site keeps messing up the formatting of my signature too. I have to go in and edit it each day. The site is running very old vB software that is full of bugs and probably secure flaws too.

And as for the touch based pc's Microsoft is trying to brag about, there's no demand for them. Apple could have slapped a touch screen on a MacBook and iMac 2 years ago. They didn't because it's a dumb idea. I work at staples, and we stopped carrying hp touchsmarts because there was no demand for them. If I want to use a touch screen I'll use my iPad, thank you very much.

windows 7 is far ahead because of its simplicity

I really get satisfied from the iphone 3gs and the ipad. great tools, easy to use, beautifull designed. because of this experience i ve buyed an imac too and it becomes one of the big disapointments in my entire using computers career.

in the first time the mac operating system looks great, simple, cool and easy. at the second view it becomes a horror trip.

where are my files exactly?
i dont want to use an itunes like ui to copy files or data. i like it simple, straight and easy. easy like windows 7.
on a mac a mouse is slow like my grandpas car.
i want burn data to a blu-ray disc, no chance.
i want edit avi movies cant import them.
i want play new computer games, oh wow i can play starcraft 2 on a mac, whats about crysis 2, mafia 2 or most of the others?

the list goes on endless....

well maybe i am to old to get into a new operating system but through apple i learned to enjoy simplicity on my Windows 7. well done microsoft!
