And? By virtue of that response, it's clear that you don't understand the problem.

The paint chips off your brand new car and you take it back to the dealer. "Sorry, sir, that's a DuPont issue. Nothing to do with Ford..."

ROFLMAO. Head down to the IT department and ask if they're cool if you run Windows without any virus protection.

"Overblown" = "it exists in a hugely larger capacity in Windows than in macOS"

All I need macOS to support is iOS, but how is that worse than the (nonexistent) Windows continuity features only working with Android?

If Windows had continuity features, I wouldn't have put it on the list...just like if my work laptop hadn't *just* BSODed, it wouldn't be on the list, either. But neither of those statements are true, so there they are.
YOU have issues, YOU being the key word. I don't have any of those issues.

i am sooo excited....
cant wait for the 15 inch, definitely making the switch.. I am fed up with the MacBook Pro both 2016 and 2017...working like garbage.

Not like the surface line is rock solid, but that 15 inch tablet is exciting for sure...and i need a change!!!

Many free AV programs out there, one of which is Windows Defender and is recommended by many folks. People keep mentioning "Windows rot" and slowdown but I just never see that issue.

The fact that "Windows rot" is even a term should tell us something, and full-time AV programs go hand-in-hand with 'slowdown'.

Looks like the keyboard isn't 'optional' anymore?

So, it 'looks' faster. What hidden API's did they use for that, and faster doesn't mean better. Given the less than reliable history of the older Surface models, I'll reserve judgement until the DOA, and failure numbers start coming in.

Microsoft doesn't have a stellar record with their hardware attempts. They should just give it up and stick to shipping beta software to unsuspecting people that believe that macOS is too hard for normal humans to operate.

So freaking stoked. A 15" Surface Book is all that I've been waiting for, yet I figured it would never happen. Microsoft delivered.

But holy smokes that's an expensive laptop.

OMG my work MacBook Pro is beachballing and I can't change some settings, some setting are turned off!! macOS SUCKS!!

Do you know how ridiculous you sound slamming windows for the incompetence of your IT department to setup your machine ?

I took my MacBook Pro to the IT department and they offered to re-image it.... I'd be back there in a few weeks time with the same issues ..... do I go around complaining how macOS is??

Never compare a work laptop to a home laptop ...... it's a stupid comparison ....
That applies to macs....

For real. I have to run so much mandatory software on my Mac that it ruins the experience.

YOU have issues, YOU being the key word. I don't have any of those issues.

So you didn't even recognize any of the things in my list? These are all new terms you've never heard being discussed by anyone?

If you're using Windows, you're using the Registry, and that is probably the most disgusting thing about any OS that's ever existed.

Your PC ran into a problem and needs to restart. We’re just collecting some error info, and then we’ll restart for you ;)

Much better?

I'd still pick the macbook. The whole 2 in 1 thing is overrated. If I want a tablet i'll use my ipad, if I want a laptop i'll use my laptop, etc.

This is the Surface Book not the Surface pro.

I know what you're talking about. I still don't and haven't had any of those issues in years and others are telling you this as well. As I said, sounds like your hardware is failing.

My ThinkPad BSODs without any corporate garbage on it at all, or even with no UAC running. I'm hardly the first person to notice that Windows boxes fill up with garbage files and start to slow down. You gonna tell me this is the first time you've heard of that? It's been a design flaw of the whole OS since the beginning, not a byproduct of control software that someone put on the machine.

Looks to me like the same price as their MBP counterparts. Does that mean we can stop bitching about Apple's prices being too high?

If Apple made a laptop as powerful as this, then yes... but Apple doesn't so, no.

Because most computer users are idiots. My brother could tell you this, as he works in IT for a major hospital where I live. He and his department manage IT for thousands of the hospital's regional employees, many of which are PEBKAC issues, and that includes Mac users.

If the fingerprint hardware sucks, there isn't much the OS can do.

You do realize MacOS has malware protection? and its common sense to have anti-virus / malware protection in a corporate / company environment. Its recommended even for Macs.

Overblown = commenters like yourself making a mountain out of molehill, which you are doing. reality is: install virus / malware - forget about it. There's one even built into windows even...

I said, Windows is getting continuity features pretty soon.
