No excuse for this at all.

What worked for me, well before this update came out, was to click on account details under your sys preference .mac. Hope that helps. It took me to mobile me web pages even though it was listed as not available. ;)
 
MobileMe is working great for me. However, I am not getting the updater at all. I've done the software update route and the clicking on .Mac route and never had a popup for the crossover. Everything else seems to be working so it's strange that this isn't available for me yet.

Perhaps it's because I'm still on Tiger. Bleh.... :(

That's exactly why. It appears the updater for Tiger is not released yet. I don't think Tiger will get the push capability anyway, so it hardly matters. The old .Mac interface should still work.

I agree this has been a rough transition. Me.com doesn't work at all for me in Safari or WebKit nightly. However, it works fine in Firefox. I'll be patient and see where this goes over the next couple of weeks.
 
Great, I thought I would be clever and sign out since I wasn't getting the prompt. Signed back in with the-still mac.com sysprefpane and now am told that I have an 'unknown validation error'.

Update for all those who couldn't get in via their system preferences - mine now logs in to MobileMe but says it can't get account status due to server error.

EDIT: Now returning status information so maybe servers back up in the validation dept.
 
applied the update. push mail still not working for Mac. haven't tested address book or iCal yet.

push working for anyone for Macs after the update?
 
Calendars and MobileMe

I got the update for mobileme this morning on my MacBook Pro, then when I try to do the same thing on my iMac I can not find the update on systems preferences, also if I want to synced my calendar I get the message "Calendars could not be synced due to inconsistent data"

Anyone else is suffering this apple nightmare??

My iPhone is synced fine the same with my macbook pro. now its just my imac. What is going on? I am living this nightmare for more than 24 hours now. Yesterday was my iphone stop working for more than 5 hours and I just was able to make emergency calls. now is mobileme and calendar syncing. Help anyone.

Your iDisk cannot be accessed. Your member name or password may be invalid.
An unexpected error occurred (Error Code -35).

I am signed into MobileMe through the sys pref pane. I don't know where else I would provide my credentials? Also, push does not seem to work for my calendars, although I can use manual sync. I haven't tried pushing anything else yet.

All my online calendars are in the wrong time zone too (Western, whereas mine is Eastern which it is set to in iCal).

EDIT: How do you set Mail to check automatically for new messages? I only see Check manually or every 1, 5, etc minutes?

There's a calendar preference on the web page - the cog wheel icon which lets you set the time, though some people have had it reset to default.

I finally got the MobileMe Updater just now but now I can't access my iDisk from the Finder. I get the error:

And don't forget the Appletv updater as well. Way too much, too soon.

What's disgraceful is that it SHOULDN'T be too much. They're a massive, massive company. They're a company that sells servers and a server OS, they're pushing their new mobile device as being suitable for enterprise.

But given a chance to show how good their servers are, how great they are at enterprise....they have a big rollover project to do, and they screw it up monumentally, piss off a load of customers, totally fail to keep paying customers informed, and at no point issue a statement, apology or explanation

This was a chance for Apple to shine. They've embarrassed themselves and their customers.
 
Anyone not able to register their Mac for syncing? When I try to register, I just get a never-ending spinning gear.

Hoping I don't get charged for the free trial.
 
Restarting makes the new iDisk icon show up. When I click on it I don't get the error, but I get the spinning beach ball that not even relaunching the Finder fixes..had to do a cold shut down.

I had that last night.

iDisk causing a Finder crash (that you can't even recover from) is horrific.

What's especially galling is that the Support page for MobileMe blithely states that, apart from the home page application and groups, "All other MobileMe services are online and fully operational". From the majority of posts here tonight/today (depending on where you are) it barely seems like the most basic functions are working and everything else is pot luck or just plain broke.
 
push calender doesn't seem to be working.... but everything else seem to be working for me.
 
IF you are running Tiger ....you won't be getting the Mobile Me update. It will just work with the .Mac Pref pane.

There is an Apple support document on it ...i have to go somewhere now or I'd look it up
