What's disgraceful is that it SHOULDN'T be too much. They're a massive, massive company. They're a company that sells servers and a server OS, they're pushing their new mobile device as being suitable for enterprise.
But given a chance to show how good their servers are, how great they are at enterprise....they have a big rollover project to do, and they screw it up monumentally, piss off a load of customers, totally fail to keep paying customers informed, and at no point issue a statement, apology or explanation
This was a chance for Apple to shine. They've embarrassed themselves and their customers.
Oh I disagree. This is a big transition involving a major new product, new software, new services, and a huge customer base, many of whom have been battering their servers throughout. Hiccups are to be expected in an operation like this. We're still less than three days from the start of the transition, and we're seeing a continually increasing level of functionality and stability. If after a week things are basically up and running I think that will be a pretty good showing. If major problems continue longer than that, or if stability starts to degrade rather than improve, that's a different story.
