I mentioned this on twitter, but I think if you went from a 4px to a 2px border-radius it would be slightly more current.

and more whitespace around the search button couldn't hurt

Otherwise much nicer!

(oh and the table for the forum links {usercp,FAQ,etc.} is what's making it not sit centered in the 32px space.)

The forums now look like they belong to another site. Almost like they are a hacked on afterthought. Not nice at all.

Yeah, the forum needs updating, but it's in vBulletin so it IS essentially another site. Very tabley. I'd rather see the site get updated and he could throw a WIP theme that people could try out and mention bugs. I would highly advise going from a table layout to a CSS layout so that things like this going forward will change over easier.

Where are the links or buttons for making the site fluid or not fluid. Right now it is expanding past my screen and I have scroll bars at the bottom for left right movement.

I am still soaking in the new design. So far it isn't to bad IMHO.

I am not blind. Why is the font size throughout the site so HUGE? The main page on my 1920x1200 screen has as much content as the old site opened on a 800x600 screen.

It looks like a copy of People magazine. Yuck.

in the forums...there is an ad that appears after each original post....is that new?

and yes...i don't like the horizontal scroll bar. what are the solutions for that?

Fonts are waaaay too big

Can't find what im looking for on the right, put it back on the left

Why the heck is the right side wasting space for 2 recent stories?

If you're going to remove a sidebar at least make everything smaller so I can see the SAME or MORE information, NOT LESS.

As a long time visitor I don't like at all

Once again, please reset the width of the pages to fit 1024px wide. It appears that's set close to that, but has 50-60px too many and results in horizontal scrolling. If it's so close, why not making it right and please a lot of peoples still using this standard res.? It applies to the forum as well.

Secondly, once you click on the Mobile version (on the desktop), it appears there's something that doesn't allow a return to the desktop version. I've cleaned all macrummors cookies, and it still redirects to the mobile version (Windows, FF4.x).

Seems to be a caching issue with Chrome. When a new news post is made to the site (or one of the blogs), the site doesn't force Chrome to clear the cache.

Shift refresh fixes the issue but the problem repeats.....

Click on Fluid on the bottom of the front page.

Or just click on it here :p

Thank you for that - but there is still a lot of wasted space on both sides of the forum, that setting only changes things a tiny bit.

Why redesign the forums to look like this? It makes no sense.

Just a slight suggestion - but in the forums the colours don't really match between the header and the forum content. I don't know if this is something to be fixed, or whether I'm the only one who even cares, but I think it may look better to fix it somehow. I've attached screenshots of before and after, to give a quick impression of what I mean.

+1 I clicked on Fluid but it only added a tiny bit on each side. I still have alot of white space on both sides. Will this be fixed soon?

As the News Discussion thread about the redesign does not mention my problem, I will use this thread.
Whenever I quit (CMD+Q) Safari, I have to re-login into MR Forums after I start Safari again. Even if I check the "Remember Me" checkbox, it doesn't work. Anyone else experiencing this slight annoyance?

PS, I also have a lot of white space on the left and right, even after enabling this FLUID view.

New format looks good. Site seems very responsive.

My only complaint is the small size of the "go to page" controls in the forum. These are still hard to use on a touch device like the iPad.

The asymmetry is a real turn off for me. I had to read the news on the mobile site because my brain felt crooked. The forums aren't bad, but the chi is off. I feel like you're trying to sell me something.

beautiful site redesign. looks great. very easy on the eyes. congrats to those involved.

Looks very clean. I like it in general.

My only "issue" (and I use that word very loosely) is the forum feeds on the right side of the front page. They are fairly spaced out, and it makes scrolling to the bottom quite tedious. Previously, they were much more compact, making a quick glance at the hot activity much easier.
