My wife and I both have been having this issue in places that our iPhone XS and iPhone 8 never had issues. I’ve had to do hard resets to get service back at times as well, airplane mode toggle hasn’t worked every time for me.
Since Apple launched the iPhone 12 in October, an increasing number of users of the new smartphone have been reporting persistent drops in cellular coverage.

Multiple reports of dropped 5G and LTE connectivity have appeared on Reddit, on Apple's support forums, and on the MacRumors forums, with many people suffering issues when walking or in transit and some seeing the same problem when stationary.
Several users report suddenly losing all reception bars and seeing a "no service" message on their iPhone 12, despite being in an area of network coverage and seeing no connectivity issues on other devices, and iOS version doesn't seem to be a factor.
Several users have been in touch with Apple technical support or their operator, and there's some suggestion that the issue may be related to how the iPhone 12 switches between cellular towers. Affected iPhones reportedly pass all of Apple's diagnostic tests, while toggling Airplane mode on and off seems to correct the lost signal reception for some, but not all users.
iPhone 12 users in various countries have relayed their experience with the problem, and it doesn't appear to be related to any one network carrier, with reports from users across Verizon, AT&T, and T-Mobile. Verizon is said to be aware of the issue.

The profit motive was the incentive to develop and produce the iPhone. Free market competition by other producers with competing technologies is what keeps prices and profits in check, not Marxist accusations of unbridled avarice. Besides, is it not your own personal greed that motivates you to insist on perfect, profit free products for next to nothing while at the same time insisting that you be paid high wages or receive government distributed benefits and regulation so you can consume even more? The Article also mentions LTE, so it’s not just a 5G issue. The root cause is apple; it’s ever lasting greed for profits are making their own products rubbish.
Works fine for me.Apple sure has been screwing up a lot since Tim Cook became CEO.
Steve Jobs use to fire people at Apple that screwed up. sometimes WHOLE departments.
He wanted Perfection all the time.
Not the case with Tim Cook.
Apple needs a New CEO with NEW DIRECTION.
My problem was using a VPN with a T Mobile Iphone 12. Would not receive any data when out and about. None of my apps worked. Went to Starbucks and had to sign in to their WiFi while I was in the Drive thru lane in order to get the app to work. Apple Senior tech was finally able to figure out the problem was my ExpressVPN. Deleted the app and then everything worked fine.

Growing pains for a premium phone?😳On my 12 i tend to get far worse service than my last couple of phones. it reads 5G on my phone, but pages load like molasses. I have shrugged it off as growing pains with 5G by both Apple and Verizon.
