I'm an Apple guy, but literally everything you said here is inappropriate or just wrong.

Really? It all seemed pretty much spot on. Samsung's playbook consists of (1) prematurely rolling out gimmicky functionality that no one needs or wants, and which is generally half baked, and (2) copying whatever Apple has already done and offering it in a larger size (memory, screen, etc).

That’s what happens when you rush a prototype to market. Anyone with half a brain could see that it wasn’t ready for the big time. If you’re going to release something new it has to be functional and refined, that’s where Apple has always shined.

This. Also, the Verge's review of the Samsung S10+ was titled perfectly. They called it the anti-iPhone lol. Samsung REALLY wants to stay as Android's iPhone/Apple wanna be product. But they are being nipped from behind by newcomers at a cheaper price.

Apple always gets the last laugh because they are so stubborn. Genius-level of stubborn.

1) the fact that Samsung is Asian is irrelevant
2) Samsung is in no way "catching up" with Apple
3) Folding iPhone may or may not ever exist

I'm just gonna say it. Foldable screens are a terrible idea and the engineering of this product is obviously horrible. Epic fail that isn't surprising in the slightest.
I’m gonna say it. Folding screens are actually a real cool idea but extremely difficult make and may be decades away from being what we’d all like to use. When I think folding tablet thingy, I think of the one in west world that was slim and convenient without the bulkiness.

Right now folding phones are giant sandwiches filled with compromises for a high price tag. There’s no reason why everyday people should buy one. Phones are big enough now where you don’t feel the need to use a tablet when you’re out and about. And if you needed a tablet, you can wait until you’re at home or work

His use of "Asian manufacturers" was probably to avoid listing half a dozen different companies whose names he'd probably have to look up to spell correctly, not because there's something inherently wrong with Samsung because it is an Asian company. You're reading a little too much into it.

Liars! Plastic is the ultimate material. Steve Jobs was wrong to insist on glass for the original iPhone...

4) Samsung doesn’t have a playbook

...Other than copying apple, they did have an apple copying playbook .

Whenever they don’t copy apple it doesn’t seem to go well for them, *cough* curved edge displays *cough*

Come to think about it even when they copy apple it doesn’t seem to go well for them anymore either, what was their creepy Animoji knockoff again?

Here's one for you:

There are lots of other feature both user and security in every iOS update including many that don't get the attention of emojis.

Also kindly indicate which security awards Samsung software has won and what type of software, i do find it a bit difficult to believe any Android software got any security awards.

Yup, while I am still sceptical of the concept I am quite certain that some more work was and is needed to make this a possible mainstream product.
The product being referred to is Samsung Knox.

Honestly this is a shame. Foldable phones are downright cool, and this will probably delay other manufacturers from making them. Samsung is one of only a few companies that can actually try to create a new product because of all their money.

And it's beyond astonishing that they have such resources and piss them away so stupidly.

They need to do a lot more testing.

That exact sentiment was suggested about the AirPower.

The difference is that Apple was smart enough to pull the plug *before* they shipped.
