I think that is a really significant bug and I hope it will be solved in a short time. Is not an usual situation, we are not waiting for a new feature, or more battery life. We are waiting for USING the product we bought. I would say it's a critical situation.

still don't think we will see a 2.0.1 the same week that 2.0 is released. it will take some time to fix this critical bug.

Same problem here. Native apps crash. Have reset, reinstalled apps, etc. Nothing works.

I know other people who were on the GM, like me, and upgraded, and it works fine for them. So there is something odd here in the final build that seems to break on some watches, but not all.

As far as I understood doing a lot of tests with my iphone/watch, it seems like some related with the previous "state of ios9". My intuition says that doing a clean installation of ios9 the problem could be solved. But I definitely don't want to do this, because I don't want to lose my rings and health data.

I just found this thread, it is the exact same for me, on TWO UK SS Watches - one with the iOS Beta and the other with only ever retail iOS. FRUSTRATING!

i think we can all agree and declare this is a major critical bug that has slipped by apple's testing before they released watchos 2 and they now must fix it and release an update to watchos which will take days

i dont believe anyone in this thread that says they dont have the problem, they must not be installing a native app, try CITYMAPPER and you will see the issue we are all having, its a guranteed native app and it doesnt work at all, crash after spinning wheel, star walk 2 is also native guaranteed and not working

So you mean both watches can't load native apps? I'm just about to clean restore my iPhone.

I agree that is is a bug - for me to have 2 Apple Watches with both the same problem paired to 2 separate iPhones on different firmwares and networks etc.

I have tried iTranslate, Dark Sky & Tide Times Pro which are all native and neither launch.

However, non-native Watch apps, such as Land Rover, work just fine...

Yes, 2 separate iPhones (one 6 and the other 6 Plus) coincidentally have the same problem, now that is too much of a coincidence for it not to be a bug! I would restore both iPhones to factory settings but I don't see why I should have to (it is a lot of hours work for 2 iPhones!) plus also I have been working out really hard and I need to keep my activity data, haha!

Same problem here, spinning wheel (times varies) and then the app crash. I've tried all the following:

-uninstall app from Apple Watch and reinstalled it
-uninstall app from iPhone and reinstalled it
-Installed new native app (never downloaded before) directly from App Store "WatchOS2 Section"
-unpair/pair again and restore from
Backup.
- erase all contents and settings and setup as new watch.

Nothing off all the above resolve the issue. I really do not want to make a restore of my iPhone because I will be loosing all my health data (I've been filling it up for months now).

Hope these are not isolated cases and apple fix this really soon for the Apple Watch, because "it just (don't) works"

Yeah, restoring my phone is the only thing left I can think of that I haven't tried. I really don't want to have to resort to that...

Yeah it's definitely a bug. Really annoying as I have literally tried every combination of solutions offered.

Maybe they didn't fix the bug before they released watchOS2?

Give me 2.0.1 ASAP!

you can restore your phone and still maintain the activity app with your completed workouts and rings
just have to do a encrypt backup through iTunes and restore from that backup

This is going to be a PR nightmare for Apple ...
First they announce that watchOS wont be release in time as was supposed to be because they found a critical bug. Majority of people were happy that Apple caught the bug and decided to not release a buggy OS.
Then they finally release watchOS ... and THE most hyped feature of the release has a critical bug and prevents native apps to actually work !!! .... I mean this was something that people in the final beta were talking in the forums here are MAcRumors ... that native apps were crashing.... Either no one reported the bug to Apple when beta testing ... OR Apple has a serious QA problem

I wonder how MANY people are having this problem? I have 2 seperate Apple Watch models with the same problem in my household, so that's 2....

I am using OmniFocus, a native app, and it works really well. No problems. It is a huge improvement over the previous version.

As far as other native apps: American Airlines works fine as well. Dark Sky cannot determine my location for some reason.

I didn't do any beta testing by the way. I apologize if I didn't catch all of the discussion, but maybe the native app problem is only the beta testers? I think I saw people who had both still had a problem. I'm not sure why they are working fine for me (well, at least OmniFocus and American). To me this native Omnifocus app is finally a killer watch app, especially in native form.

I have one watch that upgraded from the WO2 beta, and another watch/phone which has never touched any kind of beta and both have the same issue!

if this is widespread enough i could see a watch OS 2.0.1 by friday to fix the issue at the earliest.

I had just read an e-mail on 2.0 and the apple logo came on and reset itself after about 45 seconds! strange anyone else had this?

I pressed the two buttons and soft reset the watch just to clear things out.

Rather strange. I certainly hope it's user error, as this sort of thing doesn't instill confidence.

i thought we would have seen more native apps available by now. i pretty much think none of mine are yet. they load the same speed on my watch as watchOS1 did, a few seconds delay.

i have the same issue with my 42mm watch. I have almost tried everything/combination to fix this issue except for the ios9 restoring. Just curious, whether this issue only happens on 42mm watch, or a common issue for both of the two sizes.
