New clues that may point to Macbook pros refresh

Steve recently went to see a doctor. And today, my doctor recommended me to eat apples. This must be a sign that new Apple products are imminent. And as far as I can see, that has to be the MBP.

There were more apples to see than usual during Fox News for the past week. This carries a hidden message about Apple being up to something.

Glad I didn't see Chris Bosch' name on that Miami team... He is absolutely horrid as a player. Toronto tries to make stars out of nothing. You give a guy the ball do much of scores he's gonna score pts. Anyways how is this relevant ? Umm.. Bosch is a rotten apple.

I can imagine the innocent cynicism you had in mind, but the way it read off the page was so heavy that it lost all sense of that British/Irish cynicism and just came off like a sick disgusting criminal or something haha.

I can't remember the last time I ears a joke backfire so hard

I still think these reports cannot be accurate just because apple does not release something other than tuesday.

Look for clues this weekend to see if any actual store gets updated w/ part number. If nothing by sunday night, you can almost be sure that nothing is coming next week.

BUT I am hoping I am wrong and apple release DA new MBP next week ANYTIME................. PLeASEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

First time poster here, anyway, from a business perspective there can be a good arguement made that Apple needs to get the MBP release out as soon as possible. Meaning it would benefit one extra week in 2Q earnings to get a product out sooner and have an extra week of sales in the quarter. Especially since the Verizon iphone sales dissappointed. I don't know that much about Apple's supply & product rotation for quarterly revenue but I'm sure the Sandy Bridge hiccup is already making them think of excuses to tell investors. Plus, they already have the 3Q bump in sales by the ipad2 coming up. But Steve & Tim know they'll beat... especially with all the yuppies making a killing off of QE2.

Can you tell I WANT MY NEW MBP THIS TUESDAY... Feb 22nd! Even though March 1st looks like the arrival of the Macsiah :)

Just because they have historically done updates on a Tuesday doesn't mean they always will. I think some in the past have been on days other than a Tuesday anyway. In fact, the 2009 update was a Monday, I believe.

And I doubt the store will be updated until the products are actually available.

Good point. Have we looked at this already?

I still say we need some "legitimate" leaked photos before the refresh is imminent. (Yes, that presumes a design change). Thoughts?

I do wish they'd do a midnight Saturday release, just to pull the Jedi mind *&(#$# on everyone!
 
Got my tax refund today. Where's the new MBP? I want one NOW!! Been waiting for the new one since January. My 6 year old compaq laptop is dying. I'm getting impatient :(
 
If Apple were to change the design, then wouldn't they hold an event for it like they did on the other macs?

Yes they probably would, so that they can tell us about how beautiful and great it is. And then a video with Jonathan Ive telling us how he put his soul into it. You know, the usual when they release something awesome :D

If they just update the internals though, they probably won't have an event.

That does make sense. If it's external change, and I hope it is, they should prepare the event.

so on that logic, that is bad news then for early hopefuls. Meaning we are not likely to get anything next week for sure and even march 1st do not look good. What's the leading time for apple to make the announcement for the event and actual event date? a week?

In other possiblities -- and I know people will hate me for it and I hate myself for saying this -- is that they do not do any external change and just change the internal. Keep same design and pop SB and other internal change.... Hmmmm

Mine comes next week, looking forward to using a portion of it for a new mbp, this time the 17".
