Well I got mine all setup:

IMG_0775sm.jpg

No dead pixels, no noticeable bleeding or anything crazy. They look pretty sharp to me. The only gripe I have is that there isn't any sort of cable management on these monitors, but oh well :)

I have them setup on my PC atm, and moved my 24" LG to my MBP. Once I get a Mac Pro in a few months, the PC is going out the door for good :)

Oh and to michaelsviews, you can see my Galant desk here with the T legs

That looks like the 47", question is though What Color selection is that ?

THANKS for information

newegg also has a very nice samsung 24 that is like $260, thats the one im thinking of getting... it has a better res (1920X1200) then that Asus you were speaking of (1920X1080) i think you were mistaken in the above post...

or owc has this.... and its a 2048 x 1152 resolution. but i feel at that high everything would be so small..

If you think that it will be small look at the 17 inch MacBook Pro. 1080p on 17 inch!

Used IPS monitors are a steal!

I'm going to hold out as long as I can until I can get a IPS 24" for a reasonable price.
You can find used 23-inch IPSes on eBay for $180 to $300 shipped--the HP L2335, the Philips 230W, and the Sony something. I just bought a 230W and will pick up a second once I confirm that Pivot Pro software work work satisfactorily; I want to run two 23s side-by-side in portrait mode.

Used Dell 24 IPSes can be found for $300 to $400, particularly on CraigsList.

A reconditioned Lenovo L220X (the only sub-$5,000 22-incher with 1920x1200) can be bought for $290 shipped. It uses a PVA panel.

I just ordered the Dell 2209WA screen for my 15" macbook pro Uni.
I'm going to have to buy an adapter, but which one? MiniDP to VGA or to DVI?
Which is better? DVI or VGA?
Am I going to have any issues with this setup?

Thanks!

TO DVI (newer tech compared with VGA, sure u could just google DVI vs VGA and see the advantages) I have no experience using the MiniDP to DVI adapter so I can't comment on any issues that may arise.

I do know that using a VGA adapter you can tend to lose signal when compared with DVI. Not sure if using a DVI adapter will cause any less loss of signal when compared with a VGA adapter. I'd go with the DVI (Digital vs analog signal)

This may also be a good option for a minidisplayport to DVI adapter. I'm buying one as soon as they come out. Right now, I'm using VGA and it works fine. Still, I'd like the MDP to DVI.

If anyone could post pictures of their Macs hooked up to the 2209WA that would be awesome. I just pullled the trigger on a HP LP2475w but I gave this monitor some serious consideration.

Also, if anyone has been able to place a 2209WA next to another IPS panel, I'd love to hear your thoughts.

I bought mine last Tuesday for $212 and received it Thursday.
Talked to a rep via web-chat.

Also, I'm going to take some shots of my monitor hooked up to my 15' Uni-MBP. It works great. No more eyestrain, plus I have a powerhouse workstation at home that I can take with me. Best of both worlds.
The only thing I need to do now is calibrate this new Dell monitor. Colors look a little washed out and seem to have a greenish/yellowish hue to them. I can't get them to match my MBP screen. Guess I have to buy a calibrator. Off-Colors aren't going to work for my photo-processing...

Just bought this monitor TODAY for $212 + tax + free shipping.

I can't believe it's scheduled to be delivered TOMORROW.

As soon as I get some free time I'm going to review my experience with the monitor. Pictures and all.

This post is worthless without details of how the hell you got this price.:D

Do some research on this monitor in the forums, or just read in this thread and you'll see.
You have to talk with the right rep, and mention that you were offered a price of around $200 'yesterday' but wanted to think on it more before you made the purchase.
Personally, my rep asked what my business address was, as well as my business name (not a problem as I have 3, others may have a more difficult time proving it's for their business) and after she created an account for me she said "the best I can offer is $212+tax". I said "that's close enough for me!"
I gave her CC info and it was in my hands 2 days later.
I did this all on dells online web-chat tech department.
There was a link on this thread to chat with a small-business rep. I don't know what page.

I chose web-chat because i'm not good on the phone. If you're good on the phone, call them up.

Blargh, that price is so tempting :(

Any backchannel rumors on whether or not LG's going to make a proper 1920x1200 23" panel with e-IPS anytime soon?

Also, another question... several people elsewhere are claiming that this monitor must be calibrated very specifically to get good color, and that the monitor adjustment features are lackluster. Any comments from the owners here?

I am NOT a professional artist, but for the photo editing and web sites that I do , this monitor works just fine for me.

IMHO, if someone is complaining about color and calibration, do you really think DELL made this monitor for said purpose? Buy the ACD's eBay has lots of listings for new in the box displays. Or go EIZO.

Amazing how people bash a product and they either do NOT own it and are going on hearsay, or some other messed up reason. Loving my 2 thats for sure

I have been looking for a descent monitor for my PB G4 12" 1.5ghz, so I checked the site. Looks like 2209WA is the best bang for the buck. I, however, is in education field and do not own a small business, obviously. What should I do to purchase the monitor??

Dell Coupon
