The same people here complaining about it being too bendable and thin, would be the first to complain that it’s too thick and heavy, if apple were to go that design direction.
Then go for sturdy casings because they’re better

Hey I got a question guys....

If I bought a Cadillac Escalade ESV or a Mercedes-Benz G65, both of which are the strongest, most durable SUVs in the world market... then I go and hit a freeway divider, should I blame the manufacturers for making cars that are so easy to "bend"?

As always... my speculation is that Samsung paid these people to make the videos/claims.
Such an evil world. My speculation is that Apple pays you to blame Sammy

What’s the resemblance of the sturdiest of cars with the thinnest and most fragile of iPads ?
Avoiding that freeway divider (whatever the car) will be certainly preferable for your iPad

Which will add more weight to a product that people complained about being too heavy. You can’t have it both ways.

Like iPads of yesteryear were less fragile? It’s glass, dude. They’re all fragile. Let’s not pretend like these new models are the first ones that can bend and break.

Why is any of this shocking?

Because then, they would presumably have moved on to a different platform which is (hopefully) working out better for them.
It’s like someone doesn’t like Italian food, and I see no reason in forcing them to keep frequenting that restaurant. So long as they are eating what they enjoy, that’s good enough for me.
I like my Apple products, and I also recognise that they aren’t for everyone, not least because of the limits and idiosyncrasies that Apple imposes on their ecosystem.
When one door closes, another opens. That’s what we can be happy about. That person finding the workflow which best suits their needs.
After this striking resemblance between buying food and a computer/iPad I have decided to have a Spanish cpu for dinner tonight

So true. The fact that the A12X destroys anything used by Huawei or Google is an obvious example of lack of effort. Google's sad attempt at duplicating the Airpods is another example of what must be them pushing really hard

Come on... The iPad Pro is breakable and that's a sign of Google and Huawei doing a better job across the board? These types of eye-rolling statements are always a million times more one-sided than reality.
I’ll gues you’re from the USA. Where some Apple services do work. Over here apple’s services don’t work or are half baked compared to Google’s. At the moment I see Google’s little home getting stuffed in one of our biggest and most popular grocery store where there isn’t even a HomePod available yet. Googles Assistant does a great job understanding our language where I still having a hard time getting a right answer from Siri for even the dumbest question. Apple maps is a complete joke and whe have ‘already’ 3 cities available in flyover mode. In the meantime it was already possible to see our whole country in street view and google managed to get our whole country in bird view as well (same as fly over but more detailed). Satellite images are also more detailed in google maps and updated at a regular base. The flagship of Huawei with better specs, cameras and screen cost half the price of Apple’s flagship and even less than half the iPhone XS Max.

All tv’s sold over here are smart tv’s. My new lg oled tv has webos 4 and does the same and even more than my Apple TV. So put my Apple TV for sale for 25% of the prize I bought it. So far no one is showing interest.

All I’m saying that outside the USA Apple is pricing itself out of the market and competitors are making huge inroads because of better value for money.

Does Apple make nice things. Sure! But they’re getting too slow with innovating and too pricey. As i’ve Suffered from bending problems with Apple products in the past, I’m reluctant to buy this new boneless jellyfish until they give it a durable structure.

Are Apple’s iOS devices fast? Well in Geekbench test they are, but in day to day use you won’t notice. Unless you use heavy games a lot or processors intensive programs which I can’t think of one or prefer my iMac.

You’re right - and the new iPad Pro even can be simply reinforced with a screenprotector :p

I doubt it, but even if they could a TV is designed to sit on a table or mounted to a wall and stay there, not be handled constantly, carried around or transported around and maybe even accidentally sat on or dropped once in a while; so your comparison is null (see above).

Dont even bother replying to that. These guys will say anything. Just keep track of his name cause in a few months he'll be posting here how all he did was tap the screen with his fingers and whole thing caved in. Haha.

Lol, you make my day :D:D:D:rolleyes:. Yes, they’re the same people telling you the earth is flat and cars don’t need a chassis to be rigid enough to drive. :)

Im waiting for Apple to come out with an iPad with the stiffness of a jellyfish so I can buy an Apple cover for a few 100 to make it mobile.

Hyperbole hyperbole hyperbole.

The iPad isn’t a Snickers bar that’s been sitting in your car during the summer. You can’t just tear it apart like it’s silly putty.

[doublepost=1542559614][/doublepost]€ 899.00 to fold an iPad. It's crazy. Who would ever buy such an expensive appliance and would not use it with adequate caution?

Video is about structural integrity testing. You can compare the results of new iPad Pro with old ones. Old ones have much higher structural integrity then the new 11” and 12.9” iPad’s. There has been reports of new iPad’s bending under normal use. This test explains why. It seems the new iPad is not fit for the purpose it was designed for. Meaning ultra portable laptop replacement or very powerful and portable tablet. If it can’t be transported without huge padding / Otterbox Defender type cases then it is failed design.

I used my iPad at a bar yesterday without a case, without a screen protector, without a cover, and you know what?

No bends.

In 45 plus years of owning tech I have never bent one thing - I dont see that changing soon as frankly I am not an idiot.
You own an iPad? I ask that question because I can’t remember the number of times my iPad Air glitched from the sofa, I stepped on it, forgot it was laying in bed or I accidentally sat on it. Seeing the video I’m waiting for the next generation to have some sort of reinforcement in it. Knowing myself this particular iPad will soon have the shape of my ass when I’ll buy it today.

I'd probably just get an otter box case for an iPad I'm taking with my in a backpack anywhere. But this is a tad bit disappointing.

I actually cracked a laptop sitting on it in college. That was a bummer and an expensive mistake. This seems like it would crack just as easily, if not even moreso.

OMG... maybe you should blame the manufacturer if your car bends under normal use... like, it’s not fit for the purpose it was designed to fulfill.

The video shows otherwise and there are plenty more videos from even Apple friendly guys. But as you own an iPad Pro why don’t you show me a video and put your iPad half on the table with a 15 kg weight on the other side to convince me I’m seeing it wrong....

Well when Apple went the route of "What's a computer?".. every pro monikers were thrown out the window..
Oh man, please.
The anomaly to deliver that question can only be found with 4 minus year old kids that abandoned school and live somewhere deep in the bush. And with Tim.

Why in the hell would I put 30+ pounds of weight on ANYTHING electronic?

Maybe you should look before you sit. Seems like an easy solution.

I don’t know if you have a mother-in-law, but if so and she wants to land on an iPad Pro I’d advise you to take last year’s model

"Land on an iPad Pro"...whaa? You mean sit on it?

Seems like there's a lot of people in here who just sit down willy-nilly without looking at what's in their seat.

Because my ass is far more than 30+ pounds and there will come a day it will meet the iPad Pro.

Sorry, I tend to be careful but sometimes I’m clumsy. So for me it’s not safe to own a device with no stiffness.
