In what ways exactly were they more pro? The latest Apple computers are all light years faster than older Macs, so what about them was so pro? Expandability? Show me another computer that has as many options as you get with TB3? You can link like 50 old devices together on some of these new Macs, so it can't be expandability. Longevity? Macs are clearly superior as you can use one for easy 6 to 8 years. I think some "pros" do more whining than they do working.

Desktop PCs usually have the option for many extra internal drives and at much more competitive prices. The TB3 option is basically a straw man argument. I've seen it in the Mac Mini forum too.

Best sentence ”this does not appear to be a widespread issue” and yet, it bends that easy. New resale option for ipad : is it bend or sligtly bend?

If you're the type of drama queen who's going to toss the 12.9" iPad in your backpack and bash it around, pony up the extra bucks for a Smart Keyboard Folio to protect it and enhance its functionality.

Meanwhile, let the rest of us enjoy the featherweight 1.39 pounds of rip-snortin' computer power and glorious screen lightly held between our thumb and forefinger.

The smart keyboard provides no additional structural support.

It really seems to bend quite easily. My iPad Pro 9.7 feels really solid, I was never scared it could happend. They should use that stronger type of Aluminium for a thin device like this. We will see how this will turn out. I find those comments saying "it's $1000 device, you should be treating it well" really funny. It's $1000 device guys, they should have used better materials and learn from mistakes (iPhone 6s).

next year if this gets a lot of attention Apple will do what it should have done this year, and go with AL 7000 series...it was clear that the bigger 12.9" at 5.9mm thick Al 6000series will bend easy
Won't make any appreciable difference as the back seems to lack reinforcing ridges or some other means of structural support on the inside. Just looks like poor engineering.

It's 10x more hilarious every time someone says this. Especially because that's not even a real quote.

But hey, if you wanna spend your day PURPOSEFULLY cutting up, scratching, bending, and lighting your iPad on fire, have at it. The fact that I think these "review" videos are stupid doesn't make me some a straw man, pal.

It's about testing out their advertised features for which you pay for.

Haven't seen a device snap so
easily since that plastic Robin phone test a couple of years ago.

Cmon now every user that will hit the device or sit on it will say it bends. I've seen also iPhone 5 curved this doesn't mean you can easily do that.

I'm not getting paid by the hour here, lol. There are many articles chronicling the de-contenting and locking down of Apple hardware and the canceling and oversimplifying of pro Apple apps. I'm not spending time listing it here since you're kind of the most pumped up Mac fan I've seen in quite a while. Which is cool, glad you're getting what you need.

You should expect premium materials as it is priced über premium. He didn’t use much force to bend it and the sapphire isn’t real sapphire.

How many more excuses do people need to finally realize this isn’t the Apple it used to be.

I bought the new iMac with extended keyboard last year and that keyboard also bend like a banana. Yes it has been replaced by Apple for free (they silently introduced a second generation keyboard with stronger reinforced inner parts).

Point of all this, they’re getting away with it. Premium products should be quality built in the first place.

What’s bothering me the most is that they keep on using cheap structures and don’t hesitate to up the price.

Tim Cook is a money monster.

Exactly what I was thinking. Nothing was proved.

It may prompt people to pack them properly and avoid putting them where people sit though.
Carefully and evenly positioning your iGear over the edges can make for a decent toilet seat, though.

And magic keyboard II

On the positive side, we’ve reached the point that a $5 screenprotector could double rigidity though
(= a carefully remastered business case for the peripheral industry, based on years and years of intrinsic design innovation as it could only have been done by Joni)

I really don't understand this "bendgate" issue. One might think that when you buy something very expansive.. you'd be careful with it. Well...not even careful, just not careless.

If it really does bend by being put in a bag, I wouldn't say it's because the person was being careless. What's with people blaming the users for problems caused by Apple making a too-thin iPad?

What brilliant logic. Apple can make their products more and more fragile and all they have to do is charge more and more money for them.

Expensive should mean quality not fragility.

I have a previous first generation iPad Pro and it has a slight curve to it. I don't have a second generation version, but it has the same form factor, so I'll assume it bends just as easily as the picture of the iPad sitting on the table. One corner of the iPad seems bent upwards. It's fully functional and you wouldn't notice the bend without looking for it.

My Gen2 12.9 iPad Pro had a slight bend on it after a few days drawing on it, laying flat on the table. Presumably from the camera bump. It is also very slightly concave from holding it one handed, with fingers creating the pivot / pressure point in the centre. However this is only obvious when I run a ruler or straight edge along the back.

It bothered me to begin with because it was new and I wanted it to be pristine, but after a while I just accepted it.

I expect this to be more obvious on the new ones since the camera bump is bigger and the back is perfectly flat, with no curved edges to disguise imperfections.

Whilst I appreciate we don't wish to be trying to bend these things.
I'm pretty sure the majority of people are shocked at just how easy this new device bent.

I can't help but feel something, so simple and cheap, literally a couple of dollars, just put two thin titanium strips along the body, like micro girders.
They would take up almost no space, be very light, and add a LOT to the strength of the thin aluminium.

iPhones used to be bad like this, and have weak points, but thanks to you tubers, newer phones are vastly better.
I can only hope that, Apple see this, and this DOES become a thing. Simply because it will mean, future large iPads will be constructed stronger which will benefit all of us.
