I don't like how the ringer/vibrate switch is on the otherside of the volume rocker. Seems silly.

The mockup looks like a Samsung Galaxy S 2... except for the teardrop part of the design. same size screen and home button area... for everyone that likes the look of the phone, maybe you guys should try one of Samsung's?

Note: I am not trying to start an argument lol but you can't deny the way it looks.

If Apple can make the iPhone 5 as thin as that mockup suggests, just imagine how thin the next-gen iPod touch will be

RTP.

To me it looks just like a wider iPod Touch with a bigger home button.

Remember the rumor of 2 iPhone models? The images show a larger size but the ones we saw a few days ago showed a model about the same size of the iPhone 4. Maybe we will see a $200 iPhone 5 XL (with larger screen) and a $0 or $100 iPhone 5 with a screen the size of the current model. :-D

That would be amazing ^^^ because my wife doesn't want a bigger screen but I do! :)

If true, that seems like a much bigger jump in size than what you'd expect from Apple.

No it doesn't. A larger screen has been anticipated since the first iPhone, and its gone through 4 generations with the exact same size and dimensions for the screen.

The Retina Display is already gorgeous, and would still be pristine on a slightly larger display. The iPhone is definitely in need of a larger screen, and it looks like Apple is going to deliver.

I'm hoping for the iPhone to get smaller! Since the iPad came out, I've switched to running 'big screen' iOS apps on that. The current iPhone is already a little large for a shirt pocket - smaller would be an improvement.

Perhaps this is the point at which they split the line into iPhone+ and a cheaper iPhone -. If so, the '-' will be my choice.

No. The KISS principle is Apple's motto. Keep It Simple.

One new iPhone.

iPhone 4 gets moved down the ladder to $99/16 GB.

iPhone 3GS remains in existence at $49, though you'd have to be brain dead to buy one with a new 2 year contract.

Hopefully its true, would be nice to see a bigger screen..

I used to think so, but recently I changed my mind. I like the iPhone size just the way it is. The Galaxy S is just too big, and fitting it into a pocket is a bit much.

You could always get a veer *snicker*

It is really thin, but I doubt the new iPod Touches would need a mute switch, which is shown in the pictures above.

Also seems wider than previous apple devices. Fingers crossed that this is the new iPhone.

The switch could be for facetime

Random thought:

Perhaps we've got it all wrong: The iPhone 4 form factor remains the phone with the horsepower behind it (A5), and what's purported as the iPhone 5 is the lower power, fashion phone (i.e. slower speed, lower capacity, worse camera, but unfeasibly thin)?

To use the direct comparison;

iPhone 4 revision = MBP

iPhone 5 = MBA

I really wish they would have kept it the same size as the iPhone 4. I've been a user of Android previously, and having a huge phone is nice for a while. It just gets old having small hands and trying to swipe across the large screens.

But it doesn't make sense to me to have a "low end" iPhone have the largest screen, which it clearly would if they're increasing the height and width of the case.

Wow I really like that mockup. Would be nice to have a larger screen but that may not happen until next year
