I would so love to get a larger iPhone... I'm so sick of the Samsung Galaxy users with their larger screens.

It's time to move up!

3.5" was perfect back in 2007. Now, we have evolved to something larger.

This is a pretty good concept rendering... But man, I just don't like rounded edges. I really like flat sides for more surface area to grip the thing. Having had a Galaxy S3 in a previous life, the difference to me is substantial.

lmao this is a RUMOR site. it's MacRUMORS. you don't mind them reporting on things that may or may not be legit, but you mind that they show renders of a RUMORed phone? I don't get it. Arn never claimed that these renderings are "news". they're just articles....
So some website asked a graphic designer to mock up what an iPhone 6 might look like. I'm not sure how that qualifies as a rumor. Why discuss a mockup of something that most likely isn't legit?

I am still having hard time judging the size of the 4.7 compared to the beloved 5S.

As others posted, keeping the iPhone small and handy is crucial to me. I hope Apple offers the choice like the iPod, iPad or MacBook.

A 4.7 inch screen really shouldn't make the phone much bigger, if Apple is just smart (which they use to be ).

This image has asymmetrical bezels. I'd argue it's up for debate whether that's smart or not. IMO as long as we have the physical home button the top and bottom bezels are going to be the same size. I guess the anti-bezel crowd will have to get an LG device then.

Whoever's designing these mock-ups needs to space those app icons out evenly from edge to edge, it's bugging the crap out of me!

Renderings of anything is not a rumor. It is not a news. It's nothing but a drawing, a sketch.

Rumors about a phone is different from renderings of rumored phones.
"News" of renderings of supposed rumors about a rumored phone is not news.

I don't get it.

Most defenitely, it seems.

Arn never claimed that these renderings are "news". they're just articles....

Arn didn't publish this "article".
Also, what do you mean by that? Sure you mean something. Possibly.

Why move the power button? The top is the perfect location for it; your finger is naturally there when holding the phone.

I saw at least one person in the thread happy about the move; I'm just curious about your reasons. Enlighten me!

I'm all for a larger screen as it would be nice to watch a movie or YouTube video without squinting; I just hope the trade off isn't an even shorter battery life, which as mentioned before defeats the purpose of having a smartphone with all the apps and features.

I am not, however, a fan of the new look...it seems apple is following the aesthetic of android devices (the ios7 interface and now this). It just doesn't have a premium look to it like the 5S does, hopefully it's just the renderings. Ultimately I'm ambivalent, but I'll definitely get it...after a decade of buying apple it's pointless to leave over one phone.

Hence why I hate concepts. It's pretty clear to see where Apple will probably go (iPod touch/iPad like design) and this design looks nothing like that.

I don't mind them though, I find them quite entertaining :D

They look great but the iPhone doesn't need to be any thinner at this point. I would think that the larger the iPhone gets the more likely it could bend.

I agree, I owned the iTouch 5G it was too thin and slippery to hold or prop up on anything without a case. There is nothing wrong with having a little heft to your phone. This marketing concept of thinner is better without improving battery life is going the wrong direction IMO.

3.5" was perfect for a "Phone first, Apps/Browsing/Texting second" world

Now... it's more like "Phone last, Apps/Browsing/Texting first", bigger screen is welcomed.

With faster and faster mobile internet I hardly use the phone to make calls anymore.

Bring on the 5.5"! If I can currently carry a S&W 642, Buck knife, keys, speed strip and iPhone 5 in my Levi's 501 jeans pockets without any issues, printing or otherwise, then adding a 5.5" iPhone 6 will be a piece of cake!:D

Case in point why I hate them: Business Insider is running a story with these renders saying this is what the next iPhone is going to look like. If they didn't show up on MR and 9to5Mac, they'd never find their way to BI and be erroneously tagged as what the next iPhone will look like.

The edges are really ugly, like there's already a case around it. I don't believe the final phone will look like that.

With your logic, we should all be using 17" laptops.

absolutely not. He didn't say 'expected screen sizes will increase every year'. He was talking about how things in general change year by year. Laptop screen sizes went up, and are now coming back down... CHANGE. Not increase.
