For a company that is doomed and a device that is just an incremental update... I'm still grinning that my iUP reservation that was secured the night before, and my Apple Store app launched at 6:00 a.m. the next morning, and as soon as that screen showed my reservation (6:03 a.m. mountain) it was 2 taps and 10 seconds before confirmation, is still showing prep for Sept. 27-Oct. 1 delivery.

Imagine if these things were popular?

Last year my phone was held at a UPS warehouse and it was a great experience. I drove up, gave them my tracking number, waited for about 5-7 minutes, and my precious was delivered to me. I changed my delivery to be held at UPS this morning so hopefully everything works out again this year!
Whenever I try to change the delivery to be held at a UPS location, it says it will
be available on 9/23. I can’t seem to get it on release day even though that’s the date it’s scheduled to be delivered to my home.

Just means your carrier didn't push enough unpopular iPads and Watches so they screwed on their quota. Consider that Tracfone/Simple Mobile is shipping launch day on Amazon.

Exciting for some. I'm just bummed that something changed in how  sends them out last year in that instead of delivery/release date arrival, Alaska (or at least me) customers get them about 5 days later. Both years ordered in first minute of availability...the free shipping now to AK delays arrival (25th estimate arrival). First world problems I know, but I'd pay extra if they let me to get them on release date.

This is kind of odd, because a number of these shipments make a pit stop in Anchorage.

They must not care yet to pay UPS/FedEx to sort them there. Guess they’re strictly doing sorting at the one location.

Though they still arrive days in advance, so Im not 100% sure why it takes the extra time.

All of you will be getting your iPhones on the 20th. Its the same deal everyyear. iPhones ship early, get held at the post office/carrier then they all get devered on launch day. C;mon, we know what to expect by now, no need to get excited that your phone shipped.

Inb4, well i got my phone early......get real, a couple of YouTube’s who might get the phone early out of MILLIONS doesn’t count.

Very Disappointed in my Apple Online store experience. I ordered 2 iphone 11 pro max, one green one space gray at 8:10am EST on 9/13 and I immediately got a date of 10/1 - 10/4 and here i am 3 DAYS later and Verizon's website says I can get the green on 9/27. WTF?? Lesson learned next time I buy from Verizon. Thumbs down to Apple Online store... not that they care.
I never will understand this mindset. How dare Apple not have your iPhone ready for preorder and delivery on 9/20.

Yup, that’s what I’m seeing. Guess I’ll have to work from home on Friday. I assume UPS required a signature for these.
I recently had an item held and it did in-fact add a business. Got it Monday versus Friday.

Correct. All shipments come in from China go to Anchorage, then Nashville (IIRC) for the big sort, then BACK to Anchorage for us Alaskans. Painful to see that in the shipping process. In years past, however, we still got them on release day (once or twice even the eve before). Starting last year they made some change. Nothing to get upset about, just miss the "good ol days". :)

I am doing a in store pickup at Apple Menlo Park Edison NJ 8am less of a pain in the ass, on the way to work
This is the first year for me of doing the pickup in a store. I like you hope to land one early on Friday.

What kind of caveman would you have to be to hold a phone like that? #photoshop

Lol. Absolutely 100% not photoshop. Or any other photo editing software at all. Actually spur of the moment idea, and one that took under 30 seconds to go from concept to photo. Didn’t involve printing it or anything like that either. Actually pretty clever on my part of I do say so myself.

I'm assuming you are tying to hold at a UPS Store. That usually adds one or two days to the delivery, but on rare occasions will deliver on the same day it would if it went to the original address.

It’s funny how your warehouse shadow matches Apples promotional photos. What a coincidence!View attachment 859043

100% right you are. It’s most definitely photoshopped. They took a decent stab at it. Next time whoever did it should also make sure the camera bump out is equal distance to both edges of the phone.

I know that I shouldn’t be worried, but is this happening to anyone else? Delivery is scheduled for the 20th.

Whatever the situation is, I know UPS will work some of their magic ensuring the packages arrive on time and on schedule. Props to the men and women working so hard just so we can enjoy our Apple products.

Omg! Fed-Ex just showed up at work with 11 pro midnight. Beautiful!! What a nice surprise on a Monday!! 
Finally figured it out after I initially thought it was a printout. You actually just zoomed an online photo on your screen and flipped the phone upside down, therefore covering the notch with your hand. We are actually looking at the front of an iPhone. I just recreated it on my phone.
Clever.

That is pretty great. @sulpfiction Well played, sir.

Today they moved my preorder date from 20th of sep to 1-3 oct.

Tomorrow I will call them and unleash hell upon them.

I finished preorder in one minute after they opened it. Phones were still available for 20th half an hour after I finished!

The pre-orders must have gone crazy and so they brought another pallet in and it looks like yours has been relegated to the second pallet?

Ordering now would give me earlier delivery which is insane.

I received confirmation email for 20th after I preordered on Friday.

they waited 4 days to move my order?

Same here, I’m shocked, the moved my order from the 9.20 to 9.27
Why the hell?
I ordered in the minute when the pre-order opened
