In reference to the "iPod" pic Kevin posted. Look at the edge. Do people really think Apple is going to make a new iPod that could slice cheese ?

wow, let me introduce you to the macbook air!!!!

Because MS treats their employees with distane, they basically have stolen tech from other smaller companies who can't fight back, they refused to keep I.E as a sing program until the courts said no... do I need to go on? There is a reason why they are starting to fail. This reason is they think they are Gods among men. Yet the meek will inhert the earth.

wow, some of thoswe points have no bassis, you made some of that up, im not saying that microsoft is a great company, but geez, you gotta rember there are thousands of people working there, area all of them evil? geez, MS isnt THAT bad

so.. since the picture is still up does that mean its fake?.. doesnt apple legal usually require real photos to be removed?

I am not buying this.
Yes, I'd like iTunes to suck less for video.
And the iPod line-up needs a refresh.

But
1) That Nano is a terrible design. If you had that thing in your jeans pocket, and sat down, it would sever your femoral artery. Knife crime is rife, do we really need iPods you can stab people with?

A device needs to have a shape. 4:3 is a good shape. 16:9 is too long. This is what? 3:1 ! That is absurd!

C.

wow, the 1st and 2nd genration nano like that, and it sold well, and really wasnt THAT BIGGER than the current gen

Just a Case?

iThink the pic is just the outer case of the new nano, like the shells of the iPhone 3G before it's launch and new MacBook we have been seeing recently that would explain the strange top edge, This is so going to be the next nano, iLOVE the curvature to match the MBA.

Curved nano? How are they going to sell this? "Now the screen is 50x more likely to be scratched and scuffed."

wow, and you bassis on that is..........because you dont like it, wow thats valid
the curve actually makes the product stronger

Restructure - With all the content you can have in iTunes now, Apple needs to create a top-level folder for each media type. Doing this makes it easier to backup specific content, prevents mixing of different content. Why Podcasts, TV Shows, and Movies are in iTunes MUSIC is beyond me.

  • I totally agree.

I wish I could specify to add music to my music folder, but not to add TV Shows or Movies to the music folder (since I keep them on my external). This really needs to be addressed because everything just becomes muddled up.

If they don't do this in iTunes 8, they'll get some angry emails. They are promoting iTunes not just as a music application, yet they haven't even got something as simple as organisation for the likes of TV Shows and Movies yet.

hmmm...... that's smart, we'll definatly think it isnt a ipod if apple orders it taken down

While that might be what the new Nano looks like, I'm not a big fan of it. Looks too much like this calculator design without a sliding cover:

http://www.best-supplier.com/products/BSI-2018.htm

I'd hope that Apple can come up with something a bit more unique. The larger screen is welcome, of course, but with the current Nano being so small, they should be striving to keep the new one small as well!

I personally think that the first-generation iPod nano had the best design. If this picture is real, than the nano has really gone downhill looks-wise since then.

The rumors may prove true, but I sure hope that's not the new nano. It looks... ugly.

Thats what people said last year though.

I like it personaly.

Cheaper price would be nice so that they can actually come close to being competitively priced.

I'm most interested/excited in the iTunes 8.0 updates.
They've been needing new features and an UI overhaul for some time...

Some ideas:
-Sharper-looking Coverflow. The original was so much nicer.
-Option to organize all bands albums into stacks. Think docks "grid" and "fan" options.

That is all. Feel free to add your own. :p

um, wow, that design is totally original, it's like the 1st and second generation nano before it turned square

2) The Blu Ray thing has been predicted a hundred times already. If it was going to happen, it would have ALREADY happened. I hope Apple continues to eschew the format. Optical Disks are not the future of digital file distribution.

C.
Right. I guess you were rooting for HD-DVD in the format war. Blu-ray is the future. Not everyone has a ten million terabyte hard drive or access to a uncapped, extremely fast broadband internet connection for HD digital file distribution to be the future. I prefer to have hard copies of everything, and that's not just because I can't get high speed internet. My hard drive is cluttered enough as is without hundreds of gigabytes - or, in the future, terabytes of video that can be easily stored on DVDs and/or blu-ray discs. I really hope Apple brings native blu-ray support to the Mac.

If you want to add something to your iTunes library and not have it be automatically copied to the iTunes folder (i.e. movies/tv shows on an external) then Hold down Option/Alt key while dragging the file into iTunes
This will keep it from being copied to your iTunes library, I do this and it works great. I have my iTunes automatically add stuff to the library, but not my movies and tv shows, I add those to iTunes while holding down Option/Alt key and they stay on my external.

Almost believable, besides blu-ray claim

The original author seems to be almost credible until he added blu-ray at the end, knowing that it will get some traction among readers. But I would side with other poster: blu-ray drive have like zero chance to be supported. If you needed it so badly for the purpose you mentioned just get an external one and Toast your $30 a pop donuts.

Fake. Almost 100% certain. The current Nano is so much better than the display, the only reason it's selling is it's small appearance.

Hey Arn....

I can make **** up too.

"Hey, there's going to be a new Mac Tower simply called the Mac. It will look like the Cube but with design cues from the Mac Pro and iMac. It will be paired with a new line of ultra cheap display's that the non pros have been begging for."

Coming out within the next 4 months - 6 years.

I personally think that the first-generation iPod nano had the best design. If this picture is real, than the nano has really gone downhill looks-wise since then.

Amen to that brother. I am on the look out for a mint condition or brand new 1st gen Nano. Kicking myself for selling mine. It was by far the best design and a step forward and up from the iPod Mini. Then Apple had to go all, "Let's duck it up and watch the weirdos still buy it!" on us.

I have never seen any original prediction from Kevin. His infos are more about publicity stunts than anything else.

That Nano design looks ridiculous. There's no need for wheel controls if the screen is touch sensitive. It adds unnecessary bulk to the device making it not so Nano anymore. I hope this rumor is wrong.

Apple's team of high priced lawyers are pretty quick when it comes to taking down rumors that are true or are actually leaked. Have you noticed that most rumors go unanswered by Apple and turn out to be false...I sense a connection. Most of the time though I bet they sit around and laugh at stuff like this. I mean come on, who is this guy in the video? Does he work for Apple? No because he would be fired and sued if it was true first of all. Who are these mysterious "sources" he speaks of?

That iPod nano's not touchscreen (at least I don't think it is).

Except for the leaked aluminum keyboard pictures.
