New iPod Nano, iPod Touch, iTunes 8.0, and Blu-Ray in 10.5.6?

I think we should be seeing a 160GB (or higher) iPod Touch (yes, it's not going to be as thin as the flash based versions), to replace the iPod Classic.
I like the idea of a 160gb touch, but this is very unlikely due to the hard drive being too slow for the touch OS to run from. Flash memory is much faster.

The Classic isn't going anywhere. The iPod Touch will never/can't replace it.
Don't worry. This is what you call bad mockup artist renditions. Since most don't study industrial design or ergonomics there designs usually end up being terrible and tacky. Most importantly, not following the Apple motif.
Agreed. Not only that, but the device would be a lot thicker and heavier, and prone to the same issues that the Classic is currently prone to. I.E. HDD breakage and speed.
Keeping the iPod Touch flash based is the only way to go. And it will be a long time before the Classic is replaced since it's still the most formidable music/movie/photo player.
Yep. The classic is the iPod, in my opinion. If you just want to get an iPod to listen to music, like most do, the classic is the best choice. I prefer to navigate through the music menus through physical buttons, as it just feels better and I can usually find what I want quicker. Furthermore, one thing that always annoys me on the touch is that in cover flow, if you want to get to an artist, you have to flick your finger like a maniac, only to go right past the one you wanted. With the classic and the nano you simply move your finger in a circle, and it's one continuous movement, meaning you can scrol thorugh albums quicker.
However, don't get me wrong, the touch is a great device for apps etc.
As for the pictured nano, I don't think it's legit. At least, I hope it's not. I don't like the idea of the whole iPod being rounded. If Apple is going to do any rounding, they'll do it to the back of the iPod, but not to the front. (like the iPhone)

Please don't mention that it's already a feature for shuffle users, cos that's just an insulting reminder of how easy it would have been for them to include it. Hopefully now that apple is not so busy trying to get ppl to upgrade to higher capacity models but trying to transition the line to flash, perhaps they will finally throw the lossless crowd a bone.

What I hope for:
- Cocoa App
- much better features for Video watching. I would like to get all features from the DVD player app
- couldn't care less about iTunes unlimited - I don't want or need that (but don't care if it is added either)
- iPhone Remote App that works (it doesn't work for me)

Most did not belive the fat nano, most said it was ugly and not something Apple would design. This look to me as a possible design. Either way we will know in a few weeks.

2154 A.D. and they will STILL have an iPod classic with a tiny no-touch screen and it will suck compared to everything else around it.

I'd say it'd be at least $100 more expensive than an iPod touch of equivalent capacity.

It's interesting how Kevin Rose hasn't said anything about the Mac tablet device rumored for September/October.
Probably because the Mac Tablet rumour has been reappearing for years with tons of mock ups.

geez why are ya'll hatin on kevin rose,i love the speculations and the rumours,thats why im a apple fan, thats why it's fun,even if it's wrong c-mon let play nice, dosent mean he's a bad guy.
i feel passionate about apple but sometimes you guys take things a little far, and say some really dispicable and hatefull things.
and to be honest, all of us only have our theories and opinions(and thats okay), and none of us can produce evidence that it's real or a hoax, thats why it's a RUMOR,we wont find out truly untill the ipod refresh. so lets be nice

I also love the rumors, it's fab to speculate. What I don't like is Kevin taking advantage of his priviliged position to publicly say stuff that he heard about. He gets the cred, but _none_ if this is his work. I like what he does in diggnation, he's fun to watch. But I think he has overstepped it this time.
I don't think Kevin is speculating. He is telling something he has heard. Maybe even in confidence. Unless he has the go ahead to publicly air this stuff, he is breaking someones trust. That's why I think it isn't right.
Theories and opinions are all fine and dandy, we're all entitled to those. But Kevin isn't just some dude on the interent. He has access to priviliged info, and should act accordingly.

Yup! We will have the 160 Petabyte iPod Antique and the 40 Terabyte iPod Holographic Touch, but there will always be that one device that is made strictly for listening to your music and controlling it while it's in your pocket for dirty cheap.
Yeah, many still think it's ugly. Same with the new iMac and the wireless keyboard. Apple is changing their design motif, let's just hope that it's not going to be a continuation of these backwards steps.

So yes, some people will be pleased, but the majority who didn't get what they wanted will be disappointed. MWSF is coming soon though...
