Just as long as they keep the classic. I have crap loads of songs and if I have to f****g settle for a damn ipod touch with only 32 gb ill never buy another apple side product again. I hate the touch. the nano isnt big enough storage. the current nano looks like someone took the 1st gen nano and smashed it down to make it a mini block.

now if apple could offer bluray drives for my imac and mac pro it would be nice.

I would also like the possibility of a 80, 160, and maybe 250gb ipod "classic"

Agreed. Though its to bad the touch cant get a HD as it has a lot that takes up space besides songs and video

From Engadget:

If the screen is flat, I think that would be sexy. Fit in the palm very nice.

Looks nice. we'l lsee in a few weeks

The picture is still up = fake ;)

Not really. It takes time for these things to happen. doesnt happen over night you know.

It also ditches the iPod connector for a mini USB one, definitely fake.

how do you know it wasnt moved to the top?

you people NEED to get a life and stop screaming "FAKE" when your not 100% sure your self.

The USB connector is dodgy, and could just be another iPod Chinese copy.

But it is a case design.

that's complete bs, the nano has only 4gb and 8gb options, and the touch starts off with 8gb option, thers no point in buying a 8g mini touch if i can get a full touch for 8g, the only thing you pay for is a smaller form factor which would be difficult to use with touch controls.

Sure, but you are assuming that the next gen Touches w/ start @ 8GB. What if they start at 16? Also the whole size thing... people made that logically false argument when the original mini was announced saying why pay more for a mini when you can get 5x the storage for the same price with a regular iPod. Of course it turned out people were willing to pay a premium for a smaller form factor.

I still think the return to the older form factor for the nano is a TERRIBLE idea.

I like the current nano design--Apple should just make a "3.5G" nano that looks like the current model but with new, more intergrated circuit board and flash memory up to 32 GB. :)

These look dumb in my opinion. I want to see something new, not a older iPod nano design that was already made. If the design isn't pleasing they better have something up their sleeves with the functionality of it all. Other then that It is only a rumor right now so i'll quit my bitching:D Thanks for a rumor that has nothing to do with the iphone for once:p

A new wide screen nano makes some sence. a lot of people perfered the slim design of the earlier nano. and having a wide screen for movies is good.

Touch nano, really doubt it. Why would they make that? they already have a ipod touch.

:Also Blu-ray optical drives in the MB make a lot of sence, because B-R is becoming the new movie medium and people will want to watch those movies on their notebooks. maybe a writer for MBP. it will happen eventually, so it wouldnt suprise me if apple was ahead of the curve

 It's...so sexy...so wonderful...

WOW! This thing looks great! The designers who brought us the iMac, and the MacBook Air have truly bested themselves. Can I get this new REAL Nano design as a 1:12 brass replica? I'd like to showcase it in one of my many art galleries, for this, my friends, is beautiful.

This REAL Nano design is the most exquisite form since Apple's last true vision:

Excuse me, I just came.

The new nano looks like the imac a bit.... wonder if the same design is expected for the classic

This is not what I'm expecting

I have been waiting for this new release for some time. I hope this is not it. It look like a rounded version of the old nano. What about the reflection that you will get from this round screen?!?!
Please make this design go away :D:D:D:D:D

Take a look at these pictures: http://www.idealschina.com/Insider/NewsDetail.aspx?ArticleID=28&PageIndex=1.

What's the deal with the grooves on the top of the iPod? Also, the case seems inconsistent with the iPod itself....

looks like the nano will have a hook for a lanyard.

the screen is flat agenst the body as pictured.

It looks like a universal remote control from circa 1998. Not many people think universal remotes are sexy though, so it's an interesting, Redmond-like design choice.

definitely fake.
That's what wannabe fake detectives said about iPhone 3G pictures and the MBA mockup as well...

A move back to a taller Nano is completely left field and something that fakers wouldn't have thought up. They tend to try and dream up more elaborate and futuristic designs. The design is also consistent with Apple's new trend, they're moving away from (rect)angular shapes into curved and tapered territory, as we've already seen with MBA and iPhone 3G.

On the Redmondesque scale, this is 3/5. "MobileMe" is 5/5.

Anyway, I just hope iTunes 8.0 doesn't take a minute to load on Windows like 7.X does. I mean come on, it loads slower than effing Photoshop CS3. You can launch and quit Media Player 20 times in the amount of time it takes for iTunes to load. Just remove the line of code that instructs iTunes to pause for 60 seconds before appearing on the screen...

- iPods to see fairly large price drops to distance itself from the $199 iPhone.

Do people not remember that Apple is getting something like a $325 subsidy from AT&T for every iPhone sold???

Like it costs less than $199 to make an iPhone

I don't think Kevin is speculating. He is telling something he has heard. Maybe even in confidence. Unless he has the go ahead to publicly air this stuff, he is breaking someones trust. That's why I think it isn't right

He makes enough noise about what he's heard that (I'd hope) no-one would tell him something and expect it to stay quiet.

* The 3G iPhone with GPS rumour he had there sounds reasonable - from 'a higher level source'. I consider this an "easy" prediction though, something you could guess and get right half the time.
* The 3G iPhone with front facing camera would also be an "easy" prediction - this one which he got wrong.
* The second rumour was a very difficult rumour, but it was only hours before macworld. Credit for getting it the night before.
* The iPod Nano rumour ... 4 months early - well done.
* The iPhone "lite" rumour wasn't partly correct. He said there'd be a smaller cheaper "low end" iPhone released simultaneously to the 3G iPhone. I also consider this a relatively "easy" guess/prediction - one he got wrong.
* iPhone with 2 batteries was totally wrong.

All up... I don't consider his history gives him credibility.

End of Sall Change

if it comes in the next 2-3 weeks, that's before the end of the back-to-school promotion...

In the past Apple has changed the iPod models in the last week of the iPod sale. So it could happen again. I'm not ready for a new laptop yet. Maybe a new iPod Touch.

Fixing soundcheck

And for the love of God, please fix "Sound Check" in iTunes!! Half my songs are on different levels than the others. I have way too much music to care to go through and change _each_ individual song, and I'm not paying for 3rd party software that _might_ fix it.

There's a relatively easy way to do that, and it wouldn't involve reading every darn song in the library and taking forever like it does now.

Just enable the AU peak limiter, allow users to turn it off or on and run all the audio through it, and presto, no matter the recorded level of the original track, they'll all come out at the same level.

Besides, non-engineering types LIKE their music compressed/limited more.

But definitely give the option to turn it off.

Apple, you know where to send the check...

:apple:

Even then, [what Steve Jobs says] it's not always accurate. :p

HOW DARE YOU!?!!?!?!?!?!?!!?!?!?!?!?!?:eek::eek::eek::eek:

Pack up ALL your Apple merchandise IMMEDIATELY in the ORIGINAL boxes and send it DIRECTLY back to Apple or SUFFER THE CONSEQUENCES.
