New MacBook Pro and 13-Inch 'MacBook' Coming Next Week, iMac and Display Not Ready Yet

The 1.5" bezels and 3.5" chin on the front was great in 2009 when it debuted. Fine in 2012 when the front face remained the same despite a thinning of the rear case. But now, people want minimalism in the form of the least amount of material around the display itself as possible. That means - thin bezels and a reduced or nearly eliminated chin.
The Final Cut Pro X i could see happening, maybe a few demos showing the OLED Touch bar, i don't think it's going to be a big event tho. The MacBook Pro and a 13" MacBook make sense.
The iMac and display will be announced, for a release "early next year".

i dont get the point of an "Air" anymore. I mean they dropped it from the iPad in favor of "Pro" so imo MacBook and MacBook Pro would be sufficient
If this is all that is to be unveiled, we can expect an hour of 'updates'. iOS, app developers, app store, retail stores, phone sales, music stuff, educations stuff, etc...
Honestly, I could live with that. At least it would confirm they were working on it.
There will be a new Mac Pro, and like the other Macs, it will move to USB C and Thunderbolt 3 as well as have internal upgrades.
I actually don't mind the MacBook keyboard, once you get used to it, it's actually not too bad for typing on, I've definitely used worse.
Sure it's no Das, but it does help them keep the frame slim and a slim frame should make for a lighter more transportable device.

Yeah, although the iMac probably won't be announced since it would result in lost sales, they have no reason not to announce the display, otherwise they would me missing out on a lot of customers.
I have sold my old mid 2011 iMac (i7, 2GB AMD, 1TB+(new)256GB SSD) 2 weeks ago for incredible 1392€ (~1500$). I had never before a piece of hardware that hold his value this much.
What is the point of thinner and lighter if the screens get smaller? I have a 2012 15" rMBP and it has always seemed small. I would love a 17"crafted from 2012 weight ratios. If they've made them thinner and lighter again then give me an 18"model.
Pathetic? Really... What would you rather have Apple announce since KL CPUs will not be available until next year? No doubt you'd still whine if Apple simply announced new KL MacBooks for delivery next year.

They don't need to be updated as soon as new tech is out. I guess you won't be buying one then? You'll be missing out, such a shame...
iMac update is not ready because components for it are not ready.
- Intel Kaby Lake suitable for high-end desktops has not been released.... and the expected release date is 2017.
- Even mobile versions of AMD polaris GPUs which were supposed to be on time have not been released yet. The whole mobile 4xx line is a rebrand of already existing 3xx cards. The new mobile cards are slanted for release in early 2017 as well.
So Apple really isn't to blame here when the suitable CPU/GPU components for its devices have not been released yet from its partners. There is no point in a release without an update to the two most important components of the device.

By the time they get Kabylake ready for the next revision of the MacBook Pro, Canonlake will be out and that's gonna be another year. Some Macs here on out will always be one generation behind processor wise.
I don't think their hobby is computing, otherwise they would know that the suitable Kaby Lake processors aren't out yet.
