It's just too bad that MR has lost all credibility on this topic by posting whatever speculation that shows up without any facts to back it up.

When we start seeing alleged leaked photos perhaps this rumor will gain some credibility.

Until then this is just more typical Apple FUD!

Better yet, lets wait till sometime in 2011, make sure they get thing right :).

Maybe Apple is just going to skip the mobile iX series of processors. Core 2 Duo has been very good to Apple - maybe their most successful processor in terms of numbers of all time. I highly doubt this but by the time they release the updates Arrandale will be in mid product cycle. And we'll be expecting more updates in a few months after that ;)

It would be really nice, especially since Apple still is a computer company after all iPad/iPhone stuff (in despite of the name change some years ago)...

This just in: iPads & iPhones are computers. Story at 11.

If anything, Apple is more a "computer company" now than it has ever been.

what a coincidence: i was about to buy a macPro today for my wife, as her dell crashed a week ago ... just wanted to check rumors page.....after reading all the posts.. i am now restless  ... is it worth the wait or should i just go and buy ?!

it depends on which kind of work she needs to do on it. For surfing the net, iwork stuff...it's more than enough the "old" one if you need it right now. If it's not, wait some days and if the rumor is not true buy the current now.

Sorry for my english

macpro or macbook pro? If macpro, I'd still wait, but it could be many more weeks.

Innovators?

Call me crazy, but I won't be impressed at all if Apple only decides to update ram, hardrive, and processor. I'm hoping this refresh is bigger than that, but if it actually does occur next week, it (most likely) will not be accompanied by a presentation by Uncle Steve, which leads me to think it will be nothing more than a simple update. It would be nice to have some sort of HDMI capabilities either through an actual port (unlikely) or a minidisplay adapter (with audio); also USB 3 wouldn't hurt either. I have a feeling that even if there is an update Tuesday, we will still be disappointed.

thanks for the quick reply :) It is actually macbook pro. and will be our first mac !! she needs for usual web, email etc., and data analysis-- which is a touch heavy job.. if the rumors are anywhere near true, then, may be it is worth waiting till april 13th atleast :D ... hoooh...i am partially convinced -- how to convince her now

Even if it is just spec updates (which I am hoping for as that makes an April 13th release more reasonable) I will be happy. I currently don't have a Mac laptop so any update will be good, as long as the specs will make the laptop last me at least the next 2-3 years.

I'll be the first to say it: Firewire. Will it or won't it?

Acknowledging the fact that many professionals still use firewire devices, then no, it's not leaving anytime soon, or at least until Lightpeak.

damnit

too bad i dont have any money and so i dont have a mac and i doubt i'll ever get one .. ****, it's not like i can write a java app and sell to get money for a mac.. It would have to be "magic" :(

Will work for Mac!!

just buy the damn computer, if you wait, you'll be waiting forever (just like the rest of us)

Serious Question

Ok, serious question time:

People on this site have poked fun at this but I'm really starting to wonder with the complete lack of attention to the MBP and the MBP users (us) will Apple stop delivering the computer products and service that we want. So far the answer is "Yes" they'll blow us off but I can't see it making good business sense to operate in the way that makes computer users second class citizens to iPhone and iPad users.

Maybe I got confused by your topic, but what exactly do you think is 'innovative' about USB3 or HDMI? They are standard components that will eventually be adapted by everyone (and have been adapted by many manufacturers already).

wow

I've only been on the site for a few months (a lot of it lurking), but it already seems like this is the fourth go-'round with "someone who works at a Best Buy in Austraslia noticed the shelves are looking a little bare today, ergo NEW MBPs AND MPs COMING TUESDAY!!!"

Can we please, really, wait for actual news?

Peace
