From an electrical standpoint, everyone should be using the 3-pin chargers. Too bad most people will have no idea or won't be willing to spend money on it.

Apple is losing it's magic, honestly its the little things that can make a big difference.

The glowing Apple Logo was iconic and made a significant difference on how people view the brand. Now that it's just a generic logo it's no different than any other OEM computer.

In addition, excluding the extension cable now just goes to show how Apple is squeezing their customers wallet more and expect the iSheep to follow along and spend more...only time will tell

Based on how Tim is handling Apple, he's being compared as the next Balmer of Microsoft. Nothing truly innovative just pure spec bumps and cost cutting numbers..

Yeah I was stoked about my new macbook. still am but whoo thats annoying they removed the extension cable.

I wonder if i can use the one off my current 2006 white macbook

If I am going to buy this it is another 25 euro, who cares, I am already paying 200 euro just for adapters so i can keep using the other apple products i bought, like the time machine, the docks, lightning keyboard, logitech mouse, and other interfaces, .. fantastic news. Couldn't be more thrilled. lol

Can't wait to find them all freyling too

Hard to figure what the folks at Apple are on!
Go ahead take the extension cord and kill the glowing apple logo but at the prices you're charging
give us ports and 32 gigs of ram!
Although someone said that its intel lack of support for 32 gigs of ram with the I7s..is this true?
What are the dells using for processors?
Or is it just the DDR3 ram that these processors support?
Anyhow I like the new macs but they are damn expensive.
i bought my first new mac in 1996 powermac 7600..
It was almost $2000 if I remember right and was it assembled in the US?
Anyhow now they put them together in China and the prices are even crazier..
I assume this is just because they can?
I for one will pay these prices if they don't skimp on the hardware...
but what are they thinking?

I am actually pissed as ****!!!!!!! Glowing logo is a must! Can't plug in my 1150 euro iphone to it because guess what IT DOESN'T HAVE a freaking USB!?!?!? And what about the magsafe.. that thing has saved my macs for more times that I have ever imagined... @tim CROOOOCK! Time for you to get lost... someone needs to put sense in this company.. I've been using Macs for 19 years and the past 5 it has become a living nightmare... ****ing extensions... my laptop bag is one extension backpack.. for everything I need a god damn extension!??! I don't need a slimmer computer I need a power horse to do my job!

finally beautifully honest words

I wonder how many yo yo's here are buying this... LOL
It seems like this is all a test of how loyal fanboys are.
So now no power cord ext? Amazing the level of greed they are willing to go and shamelessly at that!
Even if it came with a "kick in the nuts" and a "barf snot down the throat" .... people will just moan and swallow and still buy. My opinion.

Happy snotting LOL I mean shopping!

Instead of immediately jumping on the 'greed' train, I will throw out a couple other potential reasons.

My guess is the lack of extension cord has more to do with 'going green'. Most people can get by without it, so including it in the box is wasteful in Apple's eyes. Not saying it is right, but I think that might be the reasoning. Or maybe they are using the 'Nintendo reasoning', where they are expecting most sales to be replacing old systems. So those people can take the extension cord from their old system to use with their new system.

The lack of glowing Apple logo? The only thing I can think of (other than simply reducing manufacturing/parts cost) is to allow the screen to be thinner. Not sure it was worth it to remove something so iconic though.
Sad you can't see when a corporation is nickel and diming you. Apple has offered an extended power cable since the first powerbook. sad that greed got in the way this time around and they want to make that extra 2 dollars it costs to make it off you.

I'm going to wait for the 2nd or even third update in 2017 to own one, but for now I'll buy just to return after 14 days of use and keep doing that till their new update releases :)

How weird! I was excited for the new ones but when I found out there were no USB ports, I was immediately turned off.
so between them not putting out the airpods at the last minute and charger and lack of USB ports thing--- that's 0 for 2 this week for me lol

And Cupertino was a home game.

I think bender gets it right....well maybe.

I wonder what the students gotta say about this...especially those on youtube doing unboxing videos.

Vlogger/College student: "Hi guys, thanks for coming to my channel. Today, I don't have money to unbox the new MBP. I'm just poor...and so I have to go to affordable laptop.....i'll just unbox my feelings to you guys....I'm so sad :sad emoji:"

Pure Genius right there.....

"No Power Extension Cable: In line with the 12-inch MacBook, new MacBook Pro models do not come with Apple's Power Adapter Extension Cable in the box. Previous MacBook Pro models included the extension cable in the box for several years."

This is another giant innovation leap, to go along with the Touch Bar, I guess....

Tim Cook and the gang will increase profits for another quarter by selling $20 extensions to us suckers and will be rewarded with even larger (undeserved) bonuses. All they have to do is please the Board (and the Board members to please them). It's other people's money, after all.

Who cares what happens a few years from now, as long as Tim has cashed in. It'd be someone else's problem.

I was pretty let down by the Macbook line up as well.
No doubt they are very beautifully designed machines that work great -but given the price (and other small things such as lack of ports, lack of power extension, dropping mag-safe) I cannot justify this purchase.
For those that do get one though, I'm sure they'll be happy.
