I feel you all, but what the hell are you all gonna buy and work on instead? Dell XPS? Microsoft Surface Book? I was really schocked by the price and gimmicky touch bar, but i still don't see any other product equal in quality and service as what you get with the MBP.
Sure, why not? If it's work related, it would be their best interest to move on so they can get PAID.

Wait, I thought people said the glowing Apple logo was pretentious and just for hipsters at the coffee shop. Now it's priceless branding they're giving up? Wtf. iOS devices never had glowing logos. Big deal.

iOS devices couldn't have glowing logos because the screen is in front of a battery, it was a simple thing to add to the laptops because it just uses the natural backlight of the display.

since the cable for 12" Macbook has 2m long..almost the same with the extinction, its a good move

I wonder how much the lack of the glowing logo will hurt Apple.

Every time you see a shot of, for example, a DJ using a Mac as his DJ computer, you will see the glowing white Apple logo there. It stands out big time and provides so much free product placement and advertising. Same thing with pretty much any photo of a bunch of people using laptops. The Macs stand out.

The lack of the glowy logo is a bit sad for me, but not a huge deal. But it may hurt Apple in the long run.
Wasn't there a Congressional meeting photos and all along the back wall was a line of glowing Apple logos?

Hard to figure what the folks at Apple are on!
Go ahead take the extension cord and kill the glowing apple logo but at the prices you're charging
give us ports and 32 gigs of ram!
Although someone said that its intel lack of support for 32 gigs of ram with the I7s..is this true?
What are the dells using for processors?
Or is it just the DDR3 ram that these processors support?
Anyhow I like the new macs but they are damn expensive.
i bought my first new mac in 1996 powermac 7600..
It was almost $2000 if I remember right and was it assembled in the US?
Anyhow now they put them together in China and the prices are even crazier..
I assume this is just because they can?
I for one will pay these prices if they don't skimp on the hardware...
but what are they thinking?

No, it's not true. Not at all true. Not even close. All of the possible mobile i7 CPU's in these systems actually support up to 64GB.

The 16GB limit for these was a design decision made by Apple to limit power consumption and reduce battery drain in the form factor that they decided to use. It has absolutely nothing to do with the CPU's being used in them.

Form over function. But honestly, that's nothing new for Apple anymore, and I'm not that surprised about it. (Doesn't mean I agree at all though.)

Plenty of badass Windows laptops out there....do ur homework.

I know I'm in the minority, but I want to play with one of these. Anyone know if they're in the stores yet for demo purposes? I know they're not available for direct purchase yet.
it must be...for sure the 13" Macbook pro without touchbar

Wait there is no USB port? Only USB c?
Apple should switch to USB c for the iPhone. Stop this only apple cables nonsense

It eats the battery life. More than the ram lol !

Umm do what now? So I guess you better not use your built in display, the glowing apple logo comes from the natural backlight of the display..... Hence why the logo is on only when the screen is on.

Edit: maybe you meant it as a joke though, I hope so.

Wow that's a surprise, I don't know why but the lit up apple logo is awesome.

Not getting the new MacBook Pro. I will be upgrading from air either way to 2015 Pro, it's already big upgrade for me.

I really hope that this will push people to give Windows laptops (Surface Book and Dell XPS) a good look.

They're just as good, if not better than a MacBook Pro.

Microsoft also just announced that the 2017 update to Windows 10 will bring with it native support for SMS messaging with a connected Android or Windows phone (i.e. Messages functionality)

There is NO excuse for not including a $19 (retail price) cable that probably costs them around $2 to make. I guess this is what you get when you reward a company that for years, believes it knows what customers need and want better than the customers themselves.

The illuminated Apple logo was part of what was the Apple idiom. There used to be quizzes to spot how many movies used the illuminated lid-icon for blatant product placement of Apple-but that was good because it showed that Apple (then) was just plain defiant and truly different (then).

By taking that away New Apple have removed Old Apple history without any warning-and that's shameful IMO. But now their sales of MacBooks will doubtless fall - the resultant effect will be inwardly spiralling. So the Mac OS user base will fall and eventually so will Mac OS. Who could've believed that even 5 years ago?

I've still got my 2011 27" i7 iMac and its still going strong but it does look like when the time comes there will be nothing to replace it if the iMac goes the same way as the Macbook. But I don't want to think that far ahead yet and will just continue to use (what used to be) the best OS out there and just hope things have turned back around by the time that day comes ....

design wise, removal of the backlit Apple logo is a HUGE let down.
I absolutely hated it when they removed it on 12 Inch MB and now on the MBP.
it was a unique, iconic design aspect of their laptops and it really sucks to see them removing it.

as for the lack of power extension cable in the box and asking $20 extra for it, it's just sad.it shows pure greed and completely unacceptable.
