Actually the more I check it out, the more I am starting to like the new MacBook Pro. I still wouldn't want it though because it lacks USB-A, SD slot, and MagSafe. The SD slot is overlooked but a godsend since this is Apple we are dealing which lacks any storage slots like on their iPods and iOS devices. The glowing Apple logo is no big deal because it is a different design and I really wouldn't want every MacBook look the same. As for price, I paid $1600 for a VAIO laptop ten years ago. One with the battery recall, overheated, and was stuck on XP for like seven years with it.
I guess we had a little knee-jerk reaction from Apple removing ports and raising the prices. Listen, when we see these ads, we fall for it. We are tempted by it like when we first saw the intro for iPhone 7 and all the pretty pictures in their promo ads. What kills it for me is knowing once we own these new MBP, the omitted ports will start annoying the hell out of us like it did to the poster in the iPhone 7 fail thread. We fall for the ads and the cool little changes with the Touch Bar. We start getting ticked off from the omissions and butterfly keyboard.
But is the new MacBook Pro a bad product? Nope. Cost twice as much as an iPhone 7 Plus but Mac OS is twice as more useful to me as iOS which lacks drag and drop transfers and a file manager! This MBP seems pretty solid but I still wouldn't bite from the omitted ports and extremely happy and content at what I got. Is it overpriced? Not really considering how much previous laptops (or notebooks) cost that much even ten years ago. Still a pretty solid investment considering you will use this 2-3x longer than a $700-$1000 iPhone.
Instead of the hatred towards Apple, let's focus giving love back to the Mac! Apple's greatest product line of all-time. Sorry, iPhone, iPad, iPod, and Apple Watch. No thanks to iOS which is the most anti-PC mobile OS ever.
Macs = Apple's GOAT products
I say we just support all Macs and try to respect them considering Apple has stopped caring about them during the last four years. I don't want to see the Mac die because Apple lost focus on them for mobile devices.
