I'm going to chime in, because I once believed that as well. While I'm mostly a "keep it in the bedroom and enjoy" to whatever floats anyones boat, the idea behind Pride andbeing loud about it, is because historically, those who were LGBTQS2 are often punished, discriminated against and in some places, beaten to death just for being who they are.

The pride and shouting it out loud is a way of saying "I'm here, I'm queer, and I'm not going to hide for any bigot"

Even though I'm not LGBTQS2 myself, I consider myself a friend, and I support their message because of the way I used to think about silencing them. again, I didn't want to silence it because i'm against it, I just didn't understand WHY and WHAT pride stood for. I always thought it was just an excuse for them to wave dicks around in public. It is not.

How long is this acronym going to get? What will the final form be?

Thank you sir, may I please have another.

Just keep banging and banging us over the head with this, while most people who wear the face will do so to signal their virtue and show they have the “correct” and “enlightened” social opinions.

“Hey, look at me! I’m one of the ‘good’ guys!”

It’s in poor taste for Apple to include gay pride watch faces, just like it would be in poor taste for Apple to include straight pride watch faces. Taking political sides is divisive because it excludes large groups of customers.

Apple should be apolitical. But an apolitical approach won’t happen due to Apple SJW CEO Tim Cook.
It's a rainbow. People have been doing rainbows since before Gays started using it in pride parades.

Apple is actively taking sides in a larger culture war. People are allowed to have opinions without being belittled.
*giggles* Firstly, this statement is ironic considering your previous post.

People just want to be treated like humans. It's not a war against or for anyone's "culture". You are free to do what's right for you and everyone else should be free to do the same.

The meaning is quite clear—it’s not a rainbow where there’s a pot of gold and leprechaun at the end of it.

It’s sad that this needs to be explained, but thank you for doing so.

Pride... Black Power / Black Lives Matter...

These things are a thing because of how poorly treated both groups were and in a lot of cases still are.
Sure. Maybe in Muslim countries. I don’t see a lot of gays being stoned to death or thrown off bridges in the USA. In fact, gays are so hated that the CEO of the biggest company in the US is a homosexual, as is one of the leading Democratic presidential candidates. From Indiana, no less!!

Just because they’re not being stoned in the USA means that the majority of people love and accept gays? Wrong. Remember the PULSE nightclub shooting? Ever turn on the local news and see a gay person/couple get beat up or jumped?

Things are better now for the most part, but it doesn’t mean that everything is all good and it doesn’t mean that us gays can’t wear things to show our pride in being gay.

Why can’t you just let people be happy?

Do you happen to ever wear clothes that are made of 2 or more fabrics?
Do you believe people should be allowed tattoos?
Do you believe women should be allowed to show their hair or wear jewellery?

All of these things are strictly forbidden in the bible, yet you don't hear conservatives rallying against that.

If you take verses out of context the above would be true, but even if so you don't see Jewelers and Tattoo artists trying to ban speech or force people to sell cakes for their wedding.

I don't understand why Apple doesn't open up to 3rd party designed watch faces like other watches. Sell them in the store for $1 and let people choose their own faces to have. Having Tim choose them for us seems selfish and biased.

If you don’t know anything about a subject, then why the need to express your opinion? Because, you’re not just “asking”, but trying making a statement and failing to do so because clearly you’re not a member of the LGBTQ community.

Do I have to be a member of the LGBT+ community in order to be allowed to ask a legal question now? Talk about being inclusive...

Don't like these faces at all, and don't agree with the direction that this whole pro-Pride movement is going in. I don't mind seeing companies support this, but I think it's being taken too far.

Why does it bother you so much? In other words, why do you care?

Apple Watch Face Developer: “Over the last 2 months, we’ve designed a new infograph watch face for the larger face on the series 4 that gets rid of the stupid analog arms and makes use of all the wasted space by making the complications larger and easier to read.”
Tim Cook: “Is that all you got???”
Apple Watch Face Developer: “Well...we spent 10 minutes making these two new gay pride faces.”
Tim Cook: “Forget the former, let’s go with those!”

Inclusion is a core Apple value and always has been. The alternative isn't "straight pride" (which is not a thing), but rather exclusion. Nothing about a Pride flag should be alienating to anyone.

Don’t we already have a pride watch face, or is this a replacement?

Still waiting on my Black Power Watch face.. but again I guess this is just about causes Timmy supports.

They are on 5.2.1 and they still haven't added the Sunrise/Sunset to the Infograph Modular watch face. They had time to add this crap though?

I genuinely don’t understand why or how sex has become a thing that so many people feel the need to tout so publicly. What a strange reality we live in.

To be clear, this is just an observation. Not a political comment.

The fact that you don’t get it is why PRIDE exists. I won’t repeat what @LordVic already so eloquently explained. You should read it:

Look nice, though not all that easy to read the time.

Ultimately, it's just a rainbow. To some, it can represent LGBT pride. To others, it could represent clown world. To people like me, it represents the spectrum of visible light. :D

Maybe I'm wrong, but a sure way to get beaten to death for being who you are is by shouting out loud that you are gay.

Being "proud" ain't gonna change the mind of bigots. As a matter of fact, i'm sure it just infuriates them more.
