The design of the crown/button on the right side looks like either it's the solution to gloves pushing buttons and constantly getting snagged when putting on or taking off a jacket, or it will be even worse in those regards and jam into the back of one's hand even worse when for example bicycling (hands bent back relative to arm, plus gloves). It will be interesting to see which.

“And that, young lad, is the story of how the term ‘Pro’ lost what little meaning it had left…”

Explain why this in particular is the straw that broke the camels back, as opposed to say an inability to recognize that that there are professional fields outside of coding and video editing? Professions and professionals that are literally outside in this case.

Where did you see that DC and Des were going to be there? I must have missed those posts/videos.
they both have mentioned in social media posts and comment threads, they have not posted articles about it yet. both will be there in person. hopefully apple understands that if this is a just a big apple watch with a bit better battery life they will get roasted… i assume they know that so it is promising they invited these guys.

That is almost certainly what it is. It looks just like a crown guard (see my comment above) and they are common on ruggedised and sports watches for protection and to help prevent accidental operation.

Are Apple desperate for money? I do not believe it’ll have safari. What would even be possible with safari on it & who’ll ever use it and why?

How can a render give you "the best look yet"? By definition, a render can give you any level of detail desired, since it is fantasy! A "best look yet" must be actual photos, drawings, or other official artifacts that give a glimpse of the actual product.

Ugly AF, if it turns out to be as rendered here. And even if it's not, it seems like it'll be much more pricey than a "normal" 8. I'll likely just upgrade my 6 to an 8, if it represents a significant enough improvement... otherwise, I can wait another year.

Probably fine if you've got big arms/wrists. On my thin wimpy wrist it would look like me wearing my dad's watch in grade school. You'd think with a larger face they could add a slight curve to help offset the bulk.
