We always say this but then the phone turns out to be what we have seen in the leaks. I'm pretty sure this is what the next iphone will look like. The way the bands are on this phone totally look like apple. And the way the camera is set up in this looks very clean and like appleMore and more I'm being convinced that all these are fake rumours and leaks made by Apple to fool us and launch a completely different, amazing iPhone 7 :O
Most people I'd wager. (More than) half the people visiting the website probably care about Apple products and the features they will offer. Duh?Who cares what the iphone 7 will or will not have!!??
Didn't asus.have something a while ago where a mobile plugged into a tablet and activated it..?The iPhone 7 is going to have a Windows Continuum / Ubuntu Edge like feature. This is the big thing Tim spoke about.
Like this: dock the iPhone to a desktop unit and you have fully fledged computer. The desktop unit connects to a keyboard, a mouse and a screen. The operating system is macOS 11, coming next month on WWDC.
When you undock the iPhone and leave, you are back in "mobile view" and use it like a regular iPhone with iOS.
It's unclear yet whether they need the Smart Connector, possibly docking can happen through Lightning port as well.

Samsung does
I would imagine since it's basically a one off, that it wouldn't make much sense to add it this year. Makes more sense to add to next years redesign.
It's about more than keyboards. Mics, measurement tools, camera bodies, scientific and musical instruments...I guess I am not heartbroken. The chance of me ever docking my phone with a keyboard are quite slim. Granted I know it could be used for other features, but I think we are in a world now were BT wireless connections make more sense.
For the same reason Bobby Fischer studied lesser players than himself. Why would they care? They currently have a better phone (inside and out) than Apple does.
And since it will be the exact same size as the 6, it would cause confusion with cases and accessories. A two year cycle for accessories makes more sense to everyone all around than the one-off.Some iPhone 6 owners won't like upgrading to a "one off iPhone", but circumstances have resulted in Apple needing more time to release something significantly better next year.
iPhone 7: Everything you heard about it was false. The only thing that's changed is nothing.
It's the typical "Let's write a rumor both ways – that way we're right regardless of what happens!" Nothing much to see here. I do think this would be a nice feature, though.
I'm sure they'll be glad to sell you 3.5mm to lightning adapter for $19.99...I sure hope they don't remove the headphone jack!
I actually use that quite a bit, what with headphones (of course), but also plugging into vehicle AUX connections.
I realize that wireless technologies, such as Bluetooth are become standard in vehicles, but they are not ubiquitous. Still a few more years on that.

That always seems to be the problem1) Because it is not universal. Headphones will have to be Apple-only. I don't want that.
2) Because it has been a thing for a while now, and if they wanted bluetooth-only audio, they would have fixed it by now.
3) Because they don't want to invest money into this. They have no real reason to.
4) Because that won't happen. I can feel it, it's going to be a monopoly contest. Everyone is just going to make their own **** and no compatibility will ever happen. There needs to be a standard NOW in order to work.
I sure hope they don't remove the headphone jack!

Like any technology, you often have to force change to happen, either by taking away what was the norm or providing such a huge benefit as to make the old not worth keeping. Bluetooth is, at least today, the go-forward for headset connection. And just like wired headphones, you get what you pay for. Want great sounding AptX enabled bluetooth headphones, they're going to cost more than the cheap stuff on the market today.
But the market has been overloaded with crappy wired headphones for years and it's taken years before enough people made the shift to buying more expensive versions, because they finally realized the benefits. The same will happen with BT, but the market needs to get pushed by someone and that is likely going to be Apple. Only Samsung has a similar scale in what could drive the market, but they are too fragmented and the customer base would likely not buy something that pushes a technology forward.
