Damn it feels good to be a gangster.

LOL!

Seriously, though. I had no real issue with his review. He comes across as a bit of a douche in it, but the review itself wasn't terrible. The content, I mean.

His Twitter tirade was disgusting.

His Twitter tirade was disgusting.

Oh, it was! No doubt.

More disgusting than his obnoxious spiked bracelet.

Just don't think The Verge gives a crap about the whole thing. If it had become racist in nature then there would be a huge problem to contend with. These things never become a problem until they become politically incorrect.

Except of course Steve Jobs. According to him "Jean-Louis Gassée is evil. I don't say that about many people, but he is evil."

Now, Tim and Jony being the good sports they are I'm sure they're already working on a studded Apple Watch bracelet for Nilay...

Jobs' comments have a pretty obvious origin, don't you think?

Still, I cannot imagine SJ posting a tweet to a guy he didn't know calling him an old Indian dude, can you?

Wow. This cretin makes me lose all respect for the Verge. That's how their editor-in-chief behaves, like a ten year old boy?!

I, sadly, feel the same way. I loved the site when it was ThisIsMyNext, but it was a sad day when Josh and Paul left. This last set of tweets has caused me to give up on The Verge and unfollow their writers. His tweets come off as childish, and a bit racist.

But, it was. It's racist and ageist to refer to an elderly white man as an "old white dude."

Unless one is also an "old white person."

The only thing I thought kind of dumb in his review was the bar scene where he was complaining about all the taps from notifications. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out how to customize what you want to get taps from. It's the same as allowing all emails, notifications to ring - no one does this.

He let his anger get the best of him on the twitter exchange and just looks childish.

LOL, that is the definition of bu77hurt. He liked to mock but can't take a jab himself. Awe, poor senior editor doesn't like his lack of class exposed.

Nilay is so adorable. His face looks like a huge $81,000 truffle. I loooooove truffles

Exactly! What if he called someone a "dirty ass n*gga" instead? Is that what it would take for it to become a problem?

I'm still not sure what the guy being old and white had to do with it.

Is 'ageist' really a thing now?
People have become such sensitive babies that age comments bother them?

Now I have to step in at this point. Cant believe I am actually defending Nilay but here we go:

There is a difference between calling someone an old white dude or a "dirty ass n*gga).

First of all - Gassee is old and white. And secondly: Old and white is not persé a bad thing (even though it is meant to be bad in this occasion). Where as dirty ass n*gga clearly is. The word "dirty" alone is what makes it worse.
