Um... it's exactly the same. Its the unrestriction of software onto third party alternatives that would otherwise be tied to their own hardware. People wanted to use Mac OS 7, but didn't want to by a Macintosh.
So you want to compare 3rd party selling cloned, unlicensed computers running another's company's operating system to a video gaming company selling their software (not Operating system) on another platform.
That's not the same, but we'll see how successful they are, I think it's a great idea, especially if they release classics only. Stuff that was for NES, SNES, N64.
