Love the complaints about the complaints about Apple, like Apple could do no wrong.
I'll be buying an iPod touch 4G. But that doesn't mean I'm not disappointed about 1 or more of the features.
You still buying? I've also been waiting 3 years for this.. I've finally come to the sad reality that the iPod Touch will always be slightly behind the iPhone. (go figure lol)
So.. I could wait another two years, and maybe it will get a camera that the current iPhone 4 has, along with flash... But by then... That would already be behind the iPhone. It would be an endless cycle of waiting.. haha
I'll be buying because I want the display. A jailbreak may open up some cool stuff, too.
What happens to my old Apple TV? Can I rent the new shows? Can I still buy the old shows?
Does this mean if I get the new Apple TV, I have to go upstairs and buy shows that aren't on Fox and ABC and stream them?

Pretty disappointed overall despite not expecting much.
Still no way to stream iTunes contents to whatever iOS devices. I know dat some apps can do streaming but they're not complete or seamless with the Mac's iTunes library. Thought AirPlay was the answer but sadly no.

WTF...why rob the nano of the camera and video playback and keep the price the same? The nano is WAY overpriced now.
Glad they brought the buttons back to the shuffle. The iPod touch is a solid update, no complaints.

But the iPhone is either $99 , $199, or $299??
Apple might as well ditched the 8GB touch and just did 32GB 64GB & 128GB

I'll probably trade in my old Apple TV for new one (well, not literally, but sell it and order the new one). Otherwise, I'm underwhelmed. I supposed Ping could be interesting because Facebook has turned into a PITA, not because there's anything original in Ping. I just hope Farmville is not allowed.
Where have you been Dave? Haven't seen you in awhile.... Your right Apple should have kept some video function for the Nano
It's strange that the Nano is so different from the previous version. If you think about it, the new Nano is awesome, but compared to the old one, it lacks the camera and video playback. Maybe the small square screen wouldn't allow for acceptable video anyway, and there would be no point in having a camera in there (though it would be awesome for taking spy shots).
Since the Nano is now a totally different device, they could've just kept the old Nano as well. Well, maybe they are going to keep it silently.
It's interesting from Apple to acknowledge that the lack of buttons on the Shuffle was bad, and they ended up making it bigger again. I liked the buttons and I think it's a good idea to put them back.
The Touch is amazing, thinner and with cameras, with the Retina display, Gyro... Up to par with the iPhone 4. The rear camera not taking decent stills is quite lame though, even my Nokia takes 2 MP images (but even those are quite bad quality). But it's better than nothing! And FaceTime is great though I still think it will be extremely limited since it only works on WiFi (well for the iPod Touch there is no other way anyway).
FaceTime to Skype would rock though.

I thought ATV could run mp4 from Macs.
The big issue is that the ATV can't run apps. This box is useless and offers nothing over it's competitors.
I didn't like the football-shape cross sectioned HD nano, or the even more ridiculously proportioned camera nano. That was Apple's attempt to go after the Flip cameras, and I think it was a failure.
This is more true to the concept of the first few generations of the nano. Maybe we'll even see apps for it at some point.
Interface looks killer. The clickwheel's time has come and gone.

Sounds like atv will run apps eventually. The A4 makes one think its probably a version of iOS. Just wonder how much flash memory is onboard.

As a somewhat recent convert to Apple (although I have a 1st gen Nano from 2005), I think the new releases - especially the Touch - are absolutely amazing.
Maybe I'm just getting old.

He just means that the new Apple Tv will not allow you to purchase content on the device anymore. If you buy
Tv you're either streaming from your Mac or PC or iPad or your just spending money renting everything in iTunes
