Look again at the picture. See the two MBs on either side of the black MB in the front right-hand side? Those are plastic... the hue is different and the size is smaller compared to the other MBPs on the left-hand side. There are others throughout the room, too.

OK, I think that you're right.

I thought that the difference in the front row was between 17" and 15" "Pros" - I think that you're saying that they are 15" "Pros" and tacky white plastic 13" 'books.

So - Ivy League rich kids can be without taste....

LOL, that link is from Mizzou. Being a University of Kansas graduate, I must say, worst school ever. DEFINITELY NOT IVY LEAGUE hahaha
 
London drugs and my schools computer store (mainly a mac dealer) said that they thought the new macbooks were coming really soon (said this about a week ago).

This was taken at Mizzou. I saw it floating around the net a while ago. Mizzou is #1 in the Big 12 (undefeated) followed by KU. :p
 
I read the whole thread now, took me 2 days!
And believe it or not - the whole hype around the MacBook makes me want one now instead (I was actually planning to get a Mac Mini),... :D

I'd say the base macbook woukd be far more useful than a mini for not much more cash.

You're telling me. The top of each forum should have a banner. Not a sticky, a banner. This banner should say, in massive, bold font, IF YOU NEED IT NOW, BUY IT NOW. IF YOU CAN WAIT, DO. IT'S ALREADY GOOD ENOUGH TO DO WHAT YOU NEED TO DO.

And then asking what to do in the event of an impending update will result in an instant ban.
 
Another week pass's and no news from apple.

I'm certain that next tuesday will have the new/updated/speed bump MAC laptops

So does anyone really think that they'll release new MB/MBPs without an event?

This is getting so, so bad..

Well, maybe they announce the event the 14th of October. An event which will take place for example the 21st.

Because there is one thing that crossed my mind: if Nvidia is showing off their new chipset the 15th of October, why on earth would Apple spoil their fun by showing their new macbook line which, alledgely, incorporates that very same Nvidia chipset, one day in advance.

I just can't imagine Apple stealing the thunder from Nvidia by spoiling their new chipset one day in advance of their own press event (or whatever Nvidia will do the 15th). That just doesn't make a lot of sense to me.

My .50 thoughts.
 
I have waited and waited and right now I'm losing my faith. If Apple can't release updates regularly to their computers to keep them competitive, at least lower the prices when the technology is old! I'm ready to buy a current MBP after waiting for the new model forever, but I'm not ready to pay full price for a model with old technology. It's so overpriced - much more expensive than competitors with older technology than competitors. I'm not that stupid, Apple.

Apple charges more for current tech to begin with. If you don't like it, get a piece of Dell. You pay for the OS with Apple.

I agree, better Apple pulls something out of the cylinder or investors and users will be very upset.

I accept that and I don't mind paying more if the product has current tech. However, the current situation (old technology with lots of Apple extra) is something I don't accept.

And it's a Great OS...
But some Dell Machine are very good and well constructed.

As far the timing to update MAC computers; If it take longer it's good for does who already have a MAC, that way the computers stay in the Top of Class a little longer, and that feels good for some of them who always like to have the latest models

It's like BMW Mercedes and other expensive cars, they don't update their models as often has Fiat, Renault, Citroen, etc. ...

I know IT's not the same in Technological things, but a bit of this is true. It's normal to see the more accessible goods to change a lot over the time, The more expensive things stay a little longer
 
hi there!!! first post and english is not my lenguaje so, please, be kind... :)

just let u know...the Fnac (where the official mac shop are in spain) Barcelona is holding a party on october 16th with a concert (they even give away a printer to the first 50 people to get a mac that day).

the other mac reseller, "el corte ingles", have only two macbooks models left in their web page...

Pccity (spanish pcworld) don´t have any left...

wherever that means... :rolleyes:
